M5 or Ferrari Gtc4lusso?
Hi all, I have an M5 on order and recently drove a ferrari gtc4lusso, and was very impressed.
Any ferrari / bmw owners who can shed any light on if it's worth the price difference? Its been a few months since I drove the M5. So I can't compare the thrill! Thanks in advance, |

Hmm, you are on a BMW M5 forum asking the members here whether to buy an M5 or a Ferrari and expecting them to give you a non biased opinion.
I suggest going to the Ferrari forums and asking the same question and see how many people advise you to buy the M5. |

There are a few folks here with F90s and some other exotic in the garage who can maybe chime in. I *think* I remember someone specifically coming from the GTC to the F90, but maybe that was a fever dream...
Just depends on what your needs:wants ratio looks like. More space, better lease deals, likely fewer maintenance issues, go with the F90. If you don't need a cavernous back seat, and like the feel of the GTC, and prefer the obvious prestige of that to the buttoned down, near-sleeper look of the F90, do it! Good luck. It's a nice problem to have!

It's not at all uncommon for folks with F90s to also have exotics in their collection, or to be cross shopping them. V different cars for sure, but it's an entirely reasonable question.

I have a 21 M5c and a 14 FF with 7k miles on it. Below you can see some of my adventures with both. They are both very capable cars and FF is the same length as a 5 series- someone who is 6'10" sat in the back and he was comfortable. The FF has a v12 from Enzo, suspension from a 458, 4 seats and switchable diff. You definitely get more mental pleasure from driving the car with the prancing horse, but more reliability from a Bmw. Make sure you get an extended warranty for your Lusso. (I have a good contact).

Love both your FF and M5C. My MBB M5C should arrive this week! I also opted for the red brake calipers and I love seeing how incredible the color combo looks in your photos.

///M5 comp only because if I were to buy a Ferrari Lusso would not be the one....I'm more a 430/458 (no to the 488 because I'd want NA).
But you know what they say, different strokes for different folks—-and this is definitely a first world problem😂 Cheers, e46e92

I had an F10 M5, then went to an FF. Now I'm back in an F90 and will park here until next year when I can grab a GTC4Lusso.
These cars have a lot in common. They're both quick as hell. They're both good for any driving occasion. The Ferrari will have quirks, more than most manufacturers. You'll figure out on day 1 it's not a German car lol. The M5's incredible tech and gadgets can't be beat between the two, and the tech the Lusso does have is...fair. If you go with later 2019 Lussos, you might be able to find one with the extras like surround view, etc. They added those features as a build option late in the production cycle, really only a year or so before deprecating the model. The FF and the Berlinetta were both the last cars designed by Pininfirina, which is a shame. The Lusso subjectivley looks sexier than the M5, but the FF looked better IMO. More aggressive, more Ferrari-like. The Lusso is elegant and beautiful. The interior is amazing. The build materials are second to few. The Ferrari will sound amazing. Do a muffler delete or max out your AmEx on an aftermarket exhaust and you'll never know a love greater than a V12 Ferrari. Don't own either without a warranty lol, so that's same/same. But, you might have a slightly higher chance of being left on the side of the road the the F car. YMMV. Largely PTU and Getrag gearbox issues were worked out, but like anything else, failures do happen and a PTU is ~$40k. My personal verdict: Man it's good to be back in a car I don't have to worry about much, but boy do I sure miss that Ferrari. That being said, I'll enjoy the M5 until I can find the right Lusso, because I think I miss the F more than I don't miss the Ferrari ownership anxieties. Between the few guys on here that own/have owned V12 front-engine Ferraris, I'm sure we'd be happy to elaborate more if you have more specific questions. I did make some additional comments in another thread: https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1795640 greentrbo95gst follow you on Insta, love the garage man!
