So both are right. It does not use the connector, but it works! Like the previous adapters for iPhone.

I purchased the IPhone 4 cradle. Parts Manager said there are 3 different cradles for the iPhone 4. I purchased the basic one which only charges the phone and is supposed to work with the external antenna.

I am not impressed so far. Cell signal seems the same. As others have said, just connect an iPod to the USB port in center console and use the Bluetooth connection for the phone.

Not worth the the money. Also, Apple will probably release a new iPhone shortly that will make the current cradle obsolete.
