m5comp brake squeak

Has anyone come up with a solution to fix the brake squeal on their m5comp for more than 1k miles?

...aftermarket pads. Dealer isn't gonna do anything. Plus keep in mind most don't have squealing pads. Just feels that way cuz no one starts threads with "how un-squeals my brakes are!"

If you are unfortunate enough to get them then replace the pads. Or have a shop chamfer them. That will help.

I know there is one aftermarket pad out there that reduces squeak.

I'm working with another to see what we can do soon:

What are people experiencing who have had the ACG brake pads installed after 5-6 months? Still no issues? I’m considering taking a similar path.

I just replaced the factory brake pads on my 2019 M5 Competition with Porterfield Racing brake pads this past weekend. I simply couldn't take the obnoxious brake squeal any longer. Every time I took my car to BMW to see if they could help, they would hand me a BMW M Brake brochure saying the brake squeal was normal and there was nothing they could do to fix it. I was told to take the car up to a high speed and come to an aggressive stop to get rid of the brake dust. Sometimes the issue would be resolved for a very short period of time and then start up again. The only way to avoid brake squeal was to come to an abrupt stop whenever I needed to come to a full stop.

I wish I would have made the brake pad change much sooner. The car is so much more enjoyable to drive. The brake squeal is gone and the car comes to a smoother stop. When I test drove the car with the salesman, it was difficult to get the car to stop smoothly. I don't think every M5 has this issue and that some people either have a car with this issue or they don't. For those who have the issue with brake squeal and abrupt stops, I recommend trying new pads. Don't expect to get the same stopping power with the aftermarket pads. I don't track the car and the Portfield pads make day-to-day driving much more enjoyable.

My front brakes squeak loud like a truck when it comes to a stop sign or traffic light.

The squeak is gone. Much more suitable pad.

Anyone that doesn't like their OEM pads, PM me. I'm happy to take them off your hands.

Next time dealer says it's normal show them this video and I quote: if the noise is temporary it's not a problem if the noise persists go to a dealership, per the guy that made the brakes, I dare bmw to argue against that

Less dust. The OEM pads are very dusty, but certainly up to task.

I'm afraid I have to reiterate this as well. The OEM pads, squeaky and dusty, are VERY VERY good pads. They are made by Pagid, who makes many of the European racing series' pads. If somebody could import the upgraded Pagid pad into the US, it would be even better. European customers can buy these at their BMW dealers, and they're even a harder compound that brakes even better.

But, like flanast, before I upgraded to carbon ceramics, I would have taken the BMW OEM pads any day for somebody throwing them out.

I have a standard 2019 M5 with annoying brake squeal. Which pads did you get and do the sensors work ok? Less brake dust?

thanks, Manish

He’s referring to new Oem pads. Yes sensors work with all of them. Same brake dust. And noise has been reported after a few thousand miles.

Many running iSweep are reporting no noise and less dust.
