Anyone change their brakes on their own. Lookin for info on the rears regarding the parking brake. Heard they can be tricky? Just looking swap in new acg pads for less dust on a new M5.

Also am I safe to assume it's the same as F10? I've found a couple videos on those.

Assume Fronts should be straight forward.

You got that right.
Rear is the same as F10 M5.

Three sets of rears for me. Two sets of fronts.

If I can ever figure out how to retract the parking brake electronically, the rears will be trivial. As for now, I do it mechanically, and last time I did it at the track in less than 2 hours. It's a fiddly job with torx drivers required, and hard when the brakes are hot.

As for the fronts, other than having to remove the caliper fully due to the crossbridge, it's pretty easy.

The parking sensors are an unnecessary pain in the butt (it's a little delicate - wire is thin) but I've installed a new one with each set of pads, front and back.

That's not too bad if you have the right tools.

Next time let us know.

Ya I'm not too worried. Just never dealt with this parking brake so wanted to see the issue before removing things lol. Bought to swap my wife's X5 50i with some X5M brakes soon.
