Air Suspension Ride height setting.
Since I am new to this forum and as an owner for a new 2021 X7, I wanted to see what everyone's opinions/preferences are for driving their X7 in which ride weight suspension setting they choose or which one they feel is the best for ride comfort.

While not a X7 owner, but was provided a MY19 xDrive50i M Sport with ZDG test vehicle for 3 months.
Personal preference for X7 and X5: Adaptive Drive and Sport Level ride height, great balance of daily drive and sport damping.

but is there a way to keep it in that setting without being in sport?

Dynamic Level is not selectable and automatically lowers when the vehicle is traveling between 87-124mph. Sport is manually selectable or lowers automatically over 124mph. You can only drive H1 or H2 under 18-27mph speeds. While you can select air suspension levels independent of drive modes. Air suspension characteristics are affected by the Drive Mode you're in.

On the highway, I'm typically in the standard sport setting even for comfort, but that's largely due to most of my highway drives containing some moderate grades and curves. There's just a little too much movement in anything less for my liking.

It's rare that I feel the need to adjust the ride height beyond what the drive modes default to. Typically if I do so, I would be going up for clearance when off tarmac, or down for entry. If I had some straighter highways, you might see me in the lowest driveable setting while not utilizing sport damper settings.

I would just like to drive in comfort in the -20 ride height setting.

I almost always drive around in comfort and tap the button to lower one level. It feels much more taught than std height which comes across floaty to me. Especially on the highway.

Just wanted to confirm that Load Level is only available with the doors closed and in park?
Seems like the trunk button works with obviously with the trunk open but perhaps not with the doors open? Thanks Last edited by sbkim; 09-30-2020 at 07:59 AM.. |

I'm surprised there's still no way to code that allows you to drive in the lowest setting if you choose.

Every time I get in the X7 I start the engine and immediately hit the Sport button.
This brings up Sport Individual which a) lowers the suspension and b) turns off the auto stop/start function. I find the lower center of gravity provides a better and less-floaty driving experience, and I hate when the engine shuts off at intersections so win-win for me. |

What is more bizarre is that the loading/access mode immediately goes up the moment you start to move or that you have to manually press it upon exiting. I prefer how it operates in our LR and RR vehicles. Much more intelligent functionality.

agreed but every vehicle i have owned with air suspension functioning in this manner. i suspect it is to mitigate risk of injury in this litigious world we live in.
