They have 5 different sizes LOL. The longer one works with the F90 but the shorter one is needed for the GTS. So Oh well.

so you're saying size matters? haha and yes their biggest size is what's required for the F90 and the x5 i believe.

yes, the prior M5 body had the jack points closer together so the shorter jack worked for that and smaller cars. My current two cars would require too different sizes. So for me the utility of a rarely used device approaches zero. LOL.

Oil changes on the Boxster are reportedly a bitch, but so was my RS6. I can do it on ramps.

This is my solution after I lowered my RS6. Two planks screwed together (all screws going away from tires LOL). The boards lock in the ramps into position. No slippage.

These are already low profile ramps as RS6 was already a lower car vs other vehicles I have owned. For example my M5 does not need the extra height.

It allows entry for a lowered car, adds 1 1/2 inch of height. When I need more height I add another 2x10 under it, but that only was needed once.

I am really considering getting a quick jack....close to doing it. Oil changes on the Porsche are going to be PAINFUL on rams.

(2013 A8L 4.0 liter Twin Turbo next to 2003 RS6 4.2 liter Twin Turbo, gotta love the TURBOs LOL)

Great design. Had to copy it. Works like a charm.

Ironically or maybe unironically that's how my front lip got cracked... dude tried to load my car onto his trailer and used an unsupported 2x6 on each side and it cracked in the middle (like I told him it would) but he didn't listen and said "I know what I'm doing I've done this a million times I've been doing this for 20 years, those things are much stronger than you think"

I'd like a quickjack, however we have made the decision to go and live in sunnier climes, my wife has allowed for me to get a 'real' garage and install a two post lift.

I was considering getting a QJ anyway, but would need one that works for an F90 and an SLK350 which I suspect will not be possible.

I have the QJ 6000XLT. It fits the M5 and X5. I have yet to use it for either though. I used it 2-4 times a year on my CTS-V for winter/summer wheel swaps, oil changes, and other work.

For the M5 it will be used for wheel swaps until the free maintenance expires.

Some people use their quick jacks perpendicular to the car. That allows for almost any car to fit any jack. Of course the jacks themselves would be in the way if you need to drop the exhaust or driveshaft.

Used mine this weekend, to lift the Avalon, oil change, and check the brake pads. It's heavy and a pain to move but the exposure is great.

Last week the Civic was up on the lift for a bit. Transmission service, etc.....

Love them. Agree. Heavy and a bit of a pain to get all the pads lined up. Usually have my wife do one side and me the other. Wish someone made an adapter for the jack point that just had the puck already molded into it.

For my CTS-V I made a jig out of scrap wood that lined the jack up. It worked well enough. I lined the M5 up a couple weeks ago and convinced myself I don't need a jig anymore...but I don't remember why I thought that. Maybe the pucks and blocks only fit in 1 place. I'll figure it out in the fall when I mount my winter tires and post pics.

P Cars and Corvettes (others I am sure) have a keyed opening to put a jack pad on the car that stays put. Then lining up the jack is a little easier since the pads on the car are fixed in place. Hand. Unless you drive off with one of the pucks in place LOL.

Haha. On my X5 the inserts have been crushed slightly by shops lifting without the pucks so sometimes my inserts get stuck in and I don’t catch it and drive off for days or weeks until I find myself walking up to the vehicle and I see it from a distance. Lol

Oh very nice. I’ve seen a couple of things like this over the years. Luckily with my plastic tiles on my garage floor the things slide around like butter as long as the locking arm swivel piece doesn’t get stuck down. Then it grabs the plastic tiles and cuts them.
I didn’t see where those wheels go when it’s lifting. Are they just installed on the moving arms I assume and not on the base plate?

Literally herniated a disc in my back the day i made the ramps, as
i lifted/moved them around. Each must weigh at least 60+ lbs. 4-6 week recovery and lesson learned! Lift with your legs.

You’re lucky you recovered. Hurneated a disc a few years ago doing some fencing in my back yard and have never recovered. Can’t even pick up the dog mess in the back yard without being in discomfort. If I’m not perfectly up right or sitting I’ll end up in pain u less I’m on some kind of pain reliever. Luckily hasn’t affected me lifting things. Just bending over slightly. Oddly enough I can bend and touch my toes just fine. Lol

LOL.

Very.

I washed the M5, Boxster and Sienna yesterday and had to spend the afternoon in cardiac rehab (JK).

Did my 5 pound weight lifting today for shoulder rehab. 5 pounds. LOL. That's it.
