Those cables where easy to unplug. From the backseat unsnap the air vents panel from the center console and the 2 cables plug right there.

Thank you. I'm curious. What is the "not easy" part??

Yeah, how does the phone cradle snap out, I am trying to do so, and it just seems like I am about to break it?

I am thinking snap out the rear A/C vents and then push up from the bottom, but I hope the OP will be able to tell us.

I'd also like to remove the cradle and have some storage. DIY?

So it does snap out but it is held down with the wiring that is secured by tabs behind the rear seat vents. You used a trim tool and pop the cradle out. Then you pop the entire rear back of the center console off and then disconnect the two purple and blue connectors and feed them over the rear duct and then pull them right out. You need the mat to finish it off which I just ordered and is 51-16-9-227-902. I actually installed a wireless charger for $50.

Here's the DIY as well as adding a universal $50 wireless charger there:

Just did this on my 2017

You’ll need a couple of pry tools to get it out, the curved one is a must to get underneath it from the front.

Detach the two wires in the rear console; one is a clip and the other has a notch to detach.

Needed to pull out the right side of the rear duct to feed the wires through. From the console, I pressed down on the wiring loom to unclip, then fed the wires through. Replace with the part in the images

Can't believe I just found this. I've been wanting to do this for 3 years but was concerned with how it never felt like the front was unclipping when attempting. A+++ With the curved trim tool. So much room for activities now.
