Quad Exaust Questions

I searched the forum, and found out that many people said that the Eisenhaus

exaust is pretty good. (correct me if I'm wrong )

I want to buy quad exaust, but the shop asked me that if my car will fit (can

install) one, or do I have to purchase another rear bumper ...

I know that the ACS doesn't have the rear bumper that supports the quad

exaust, so does anyone know what kind of rear bumper will look nice with the

ACS..

and if possible, post some pictures

does anyone has quad exaust sound clip ?

You just have to cut the opening on the right side of the bumper yourself.

Thanks to longtran, we know the Eisenmann Quad definitely fits through the OEM bumper left exhaust slot. You or your body shop guy can open up the right side.

longtran's car doesn't sound much louder than my 330i does stock. The sound quality between a 325i and 330i is different as you probably know. This may in large part be due to the 3-stage induction system the 330i has.

There are a couple of 330i Eisenmann exhaust clips on this forum you can search for. Don't forget there's also a Meisterschaft Valve Control Eisenmann exhaust that has a valve on the secondary pipe, similar to one we have for our stock exhaust.

Many people think the valve is simply there to modulate the exhaust sound; Mike at Technik commented that the valve closes at certain RPMs to increase torque.

Why not dyno your car to get a baseline power profile, so that when you do modify your car you can see what improvement it has made?

sound is so relative you really have to hear both fron outside and inside to determine what you can live with.

exactly, and unfortunately I think the best way is to find someone who's done the mod already and sit in their car to listen. Sound clips don't really do justice to what exhausts sound like in real life

So Michael, is that what you would recommend as a good aftermarket system for the 330i? because I've also read that the valve is there to improve tq at certain rpm's, so I certainly don't want to be losing tq with an aftermarket setp (since that would defeat the purpose of the mod)

Yes there are too many cars with loud mufflers and that is all they do, make loud noises. What is the benefit of the Eiseman (SP) exhaust? Is it more cosmetic, help with gas mileage and some hp's? I have a Trust exhaust on my Maxima that sounded great when you stopmed on it but was quiet when driving on the highway or during normal driving. It added some horses and I even improved a little on gas mileage.

The Eisemann's twin tip setup seems less restricted than the stock setup, so it's possible to see some gains, but I haven't seen any dynos yet, the quad setup is more cosmetic, as it's just two extra pipes welded on, so i would guess it's performance is the same as the twin tip setup. Here's the link to see more pics of them

I'm not sure what to think of at this stage. I haven't seen any objective testing being done yet. This is why I'm so interested in our little dyno day, and finding someone with a stock E90 325i with 6MT.

Even when company reps give me info, without concrete test data, I treat that as second-hand information. Supersprint already has an exhaust system for the European E90, but due to EPA emissions standards in the U.S., the cars here have slightly different exhaust systems (see LWL's post); the placement of the cats is different too. The U.S. system should be available in a couple of months.

I am interested in a complete exhaust system that includes headers, and finding that with a reputable company with a quad set-up may be difficult. I'm reluctant to go with the Eisenmann quads because I don't have any clear answers about the true function/purpose of that valve. When I have the chance, I'll get some vacuum hose, a vacuum gauge, and route it to the cockpit, so I can see when the valve actually closes.

An '89 Supra Turbo could see a 36 HP gain with the addition of an HKS exhaust system, because the stock exhaust was very restrictive. I doubt we will see similar gains with our E90 from exhaust alone.

Someone from E90post.com (I don't remember his screen name) bought the Meisterschaft Valve Control exhaust for his E91, but later decided to switch to the Racing Eisenmann, since the former was too quiet.

so the information on Eisenhaus' website is incorrect?

Racing 6.1 - 6.4 % 20.2 - 25.5 % 5.1 - 8.9 35 - 70%

it won't be a 6.1-6.4% gain?

do you guyz think if it's worth a buy or not

Usually most exhaust only offer 5-10 extra horsepower unless like someone mentioned you have a very restrictive exhaust. For the money exhaust is really your best bet for dollars spent on hp's.
