Almost back to normal after the tornado. We still need to figure out what to do about shutters. Either black or something stained to match the door.

Patrick303 Fellow Tonal user, those are bad ass doors! Really gives the room a different feel and blends nicely with rest of the contemporary feel of the house from what i can see with limited views. Definitely opens up the space.. i'm surely stealing this idea if i do another build, lol. Also very nice sized room, plenty of space! I only had 9'x13' but made it work Without Tonal it would be impossible to get any real equipment in there.. Like i always tell others Tonal is best invention since sliced bread!

For sure get a TV! My buddy had an older plasma 55" he wanted to toss into trash that had practically zero hours on it so i decided to put it to good use. i love watching F1 or Moto GP while on Tonal especially since i'm not doing a lot of programs and mainly freelift, no need to listed to a coach

let me put it this way, if you read this message now and go place an order immediately, after it finally arrives (i think lead time is 12+ weeks), right after your first workout you will be kicking yourself in the ass for not getting sooner. I'll leave it at that..

ps. dont get rid your power rack, its great to mix things up..

I've never been a big guy, but when I was a little younger I was pretty fit and was in the gym 6 days a week for years. I was skeptical when my wife wanted to order the Tonal, but after using it I'm a believer. You can get a really good workout. Over 170 moves and the 200 lbs of electromagnetic resistance is a lot heavier than 200 lbs of free weight.

I see you're in CO. If you're in the Denver area and want to come check out my Tonal, just let me know. And bring some watches for me to check out as well.

Need some workspace/storage in the basement, but those large fancy garage cabinets are expensive as shit. So while at Lowes I saw they had some stock kitchen cabinets on sale in the "damaged" area. Picked these up for like $100.

Throw a nice butcher block counter top (on sale online) on top and done. I'll probably paint/stain the cabinets down the road. Keeping my eyes pealed for any more of these "damaged" cabinets to show up so I can add some more. Also have another counter top to make another one when I find some more cabinets.

ive read that the tonal's 200lbs feels heavier than actual 200lbs, so thats good to hear from someone not getting paid for a review.

for reference, i do sets of 225 (bench/squat/deadlift) and that was my biggest thing with the tonal, that it wouldnt be the same weight that i normally do. Dont usually go higher than 225 for a set due to a ton of injuries over 15 years of heavy weightlifting, so wouldnt be an issue if it can still give me my normal weight.

nice. I used those in my garage cause garage cabinets are rediculous. used some left over floor epoxy to coat them with as well.

Like Patrick mentioned Tonal weight feels heavier than free weight but if youre doing regular 225 sets, sounds like you are pretty much at the limit of what Tonal can do.. before purchase i would definitely recommend doing a workout so that you can see how it feels and determine it its a good fit for you..

I'm going to start this post with a "before" photo and a short explanation. When I moved into this house it had only one bathroom. As you can see from the photo it was in desperate need of a full renovation. It was functional but that was the only positive thing you could say about it. Now because the house had only one bathroom it made tearing it out a tad inconvenient for day to day life. So before this bathroom could be tackled a second bathroom had to be created in the basement.

This is the original laundry space I had to work with. You can see that I have already opened up the basement by removing the bearing wall and installing a beam across the room. Oh and I took out the very cheap laminate flooring the previous owner had installed.

Next the concrete floor had to be broken up so I could rework the drain pipes in order to move the laundry and install a shower and toilet. I also wanted a laundry sink as well as a hand sink.Attachment 2667633

The theme for the basement bathroom was an industrial utility room. With that in mind I installed all the water supply pipes, drain and vent pipes on the outside of the drywall, painted the open floor joists (ceiling)black and installed wire caged light fixtures. In this photo you can also see the subfloor is installed as well as the walls are framed up and drywalled. The walls were framed with staggered studs to allow for sound insulation as the future theatre room is going to be right on the other side. (Another reason the bearing wall had to go.)

Next step was to build the shower. I went with black glass octagon tiles and custom stainless steel wall sheets. The one part of this project that I paid to have professionally installed was the glass shower wall and door.

And here is the finished laundry/bathroom/utility room. As stated above, the main purpose of creating this bathroom was so I could tackle the complete renovation of the main bathroom. Stay tuned for that post.
Wow, impressive, nice work. HGTV should create a show for you :-)

Replaced the broken fan in my spare bedroom/office. The wiring in these 1920s houses is always a challenge. It took me about 5 attempts to get it right such that I could turn the fan light on from the switch on the wall, but not turn the fan on.

Nice to see some fellow tonal users. I agree with others - the tonal is incredible.

Interestingly, we ordered our tonal before we finished the basement. The original plan was we'd just put it in one of the bedrooms. But then decided.... let's just go ahead and get that basement finished and do it properly. So glad we did.

I definitely didn't do this myself... had a lot of hired help.

Thanks, I have actually been on HGTV. I was bleeped before the opening credits were finished. LOL I didn't get much time in front of the camera after that.

Tonal is more for either losing weight or toning. This isn't for bodybuilders - most home equipment isn't, short of a power tower. You won't look like Arnold or Ronnie on a Tonal. Michael Phelps yes Thor no.

I like it for the price, shame I can rarely find any. I got some Woodford and Four Roses upstairs, that's just the bottle I'm working on currently.

I like it for being $25. I'm not going out of my way to find it or pay more for it, but if I see it at the store for $25 I'll pick up a bottle. Then again I'm not very picky, the only thing I know I don't like is Jim Bean. My normal go to is Woodford Reserve.

Yeah, it's impossible to find it here. They get it in one a month or so, sells out in minutes.

Love me some Woodford and Four Roses, plenty of Knob Creek and Bulleit in the cabinet as well here

I drink Jim Beam only when I want to mix it with coke or ginger ale. The others are for sipping straight. Took me a while to start to enjoy sipping them, but now I love it. Still can't figure out if I like Rye Whiskey or Bourbon better.

couldn't believe they wanted to charge me $800 to demolish the kitchen before they install the new Quartz counters. so being the handy man i did it myself. i would have been pissed if a contractor came in and did it and i was like "that's it?"
