Never priced Anderson so I can't comment on them, but I priced Pella years back (2002-ish) to replace some sliders with French doors and they were in a different league price-wise than everyone else. Crazy expensive. I replaced all the glass in our house with hurricane (impact-resistant) glass from PGT in 2017 and pretty sure the quote from Pella non-hurricane glass 15-ish years earlier was as much as the hurricane glass in 2017. Interested to hear how they price out for you.

I priced out Pella and Anderson a few years ago for my previous house. I wanted the sliders with the blinds in the glass. I HATE verticles. Anyway, Pella was ridiculous expensive and non responsive. Went with renewal by Anderson and they were great. Showed up on time for every appointment; initial estimate, measurements and install. Very professional. Install was great. Youíd never know they were there. Used them again in current house for same sliders. They gave me the a discount for being a return customer. They guarantee all their work. Let me know how you do.

i have Andersen windows now, including sliding door but they are old. I guess it wasnt part of the renovation. I understand why $$$$. Andersen is stopping by this afternoon, and Pella on Saturday.

@RickFLM4
i have 17 windows, and the sliding door . i can only imagine the cost of hurricane windows, $1k per window?

In finishing some of the prep work for painting the vacant room, I see a window (fixed portion) that is dual-paned, yet there is rust sitting in the bottom of the frame, and moisture INSIDE the glass above. Re-glaze, or replace?

Between doors and windows, we have 16 openings, although most are large double windows or large doors (2 sliders as well as French) and cost was $34K. Highest estimate was $60K. Pella would have been over $100K.

Install was extremely messy because they had to cut drywall and concrete to get them in. The entire window frame is much thicker. We still havenít repaired the wood trim they damaged. But at least Iím not carrying around and putting up galvanized steel shutters anymore. They were worth it.

That seems like a shockingly high amount of money.

No, I haven't.

I would have kept the Pella appointment just to see how much. I'm in shock.

that doesnt sound right.. is that just cost of windows? If so way too expensive for fiberglass.. i bought Pella back in 2018 when they first released their architectural line (aluminum clad) some 40+ windows, about 5 exterior grade glass doors, huge la cantina bipanel folding door and two huge sliders for about 75.. granted that was on a wholesale account.. even if we factor in today's supply chain issues etc your number still seems high.. def bid around and get few companies to come out and quote.

I bought this as the first purchase for my home when I purchased it in December. Itís about July, and my order was canceled by the vendor - pending a revised version.

Anyone else into Kinetic art? Any suggestions on where to look?

Might this have anything to do w/ inflated pricing from the pandemic (e.g. taking advantage of lots of people having work done or shortages in material)?

So if I may ask, how much does that pre-fab cost? I've always thought about getting one but myself doing all the excavation/plumbing.
