JB4 help

Hi buddies, hope everyone is enjoying their M5 to the max.

I have recently came across few errors with my JB4 and hope some one can guide or share their experience with their JB4.

This is the second one I use in my car and I still have a brand new one kept at home.

After some time my JB4 strangly reads few codes
12AB04 rear o2 sensor disconnected
191C02 tank ventilation system: malfunction
123414 no description
120908 no description
12AC04 no description
120408 reduced power mode

Bare in mind that the app works very well, the car responds excellently and no faults in the car on-board system.

Just wondering what are those in case I need to change the JB4 I have a brand new one sitting idle.

Best regards

That can't be tuning related as the JB4 doesn't touch any related connections. I believe there is an F90 recall on the evap system though so let the dealer sort it out for you.

123414 could be tuning related due to optional EWG connections and JB4 settings but before worrying about that need to address the others. They indicate an o2 sensor issue and won't be tuning related. Did you install an aftermarket exhaust on the car? If not maybe attached something wrong under the hood or left something disconnected. Photos of the JB4 install?

I had jb4 for one year and zero issues.
Sold it to get flash tune.
Honestly would buy jb4 again for future cars.
And I suggest any issues you have, just email Terry at Burger. He always replied back.

It's the most popular F90 tuner by a long shot and the performance and features are second to none. I'd suggest starting with the basic installation of TMAP connections and OBDII, map1, and enjoy nice easy gains!

Don't get it for F90 if u want to use pump gas.
Don't get it for F90 if u want to lose to F8x's Stock Turbos

These are just examples of what we tested in REAL WORLD performance not dyno's or online marketing.

I will be uploading videos tomorrow showing you the real performance of Jb4 Maps vs M3 CS BM3, FBO JB4 F90 cars on Racegas losing to F90 HCP Flash and Full E85 M3/M4.

If a JB4 car is running slower then it's either running less boost or needs a little tuning help. There are plenty of reports of JB4 guys running 10.5s on pump gas and 10.2s on better fuel.

BootMod3 and MHD are both great flashing platforms but remember not everyone wants to reflash their vehicle. No reason for you to go around trolling every JB4 thread trying to sell people BootMod3.

Yeah, well said.

They're great devices and are not VIN locked so they'll happily go with you from car to car. Perfect for me since I just sold my 19 and am picking up a new 20. And even I can install it.

I ran 10.71 on a farm road on pump gas (according to Dragy) on a tweaked map 6.

People Talking too much shit here trying to sell other products.
Love JB4, had zero issues and car was beast.
Had it for almost a year and like I said zero issues and Terry always responding to his emails. This platform is for owners to share their true experiences, not shit talking.

Have jb4 installed. Live in NJ. It runs flawlessly. Had jb4 on multiple prior cars.

Willing to compare to other tunes ANYTIME, ANYWHERE.

I had JB4 on my M6 and ran into issues almost weekly. Replaced plugs and packs twice in 6 months... limp mode issues. It wasn't for me. I sold it and the car ran perfect again. Ended up selling for the M5 but i'm steering away the JB4 this time around.

If there is an issue with the cars hardware running higher boost levels will expose those issues. That said the F10 M5 is a completely different system with pneumatic wastegate control, nothing like the F90 M5 with it's electronic wastegate control. I've never heard of a misfire issue with the F90 or even a failed plug or coil. And the boost control with EWG is much better with or without a JB4.

Some cars had problems with plug misfires that would cause limp mode. My 2015 M4 had a couple misfires and limp mode. Purchased new set of spark plugs and gapped them to .022 per Terry and never another issue. Car ran very strong with JB4.

I did 10.2 136
jb4
octane booster
msr cold air intakw
full catless down pipes
akropovic exhaust
Michelline ps4 tires

the beauty to jb4 is, it has been programed to slowly increase boost on launch control so there is no wheel spin and maximum traction

Thats very impressive, basically cat delete and octane booster with JB4 and car is a low 10 second luxo barge

The thing is I've replaced it to a new JB4 and for a month it ran without issues. However, suddenly these codes started appearing. Nonetheless I'll speak to them regarding.

Keep them experiences coming thru
