Rear Wheel Arch Trim Extension

I was at Welt for my European Delivery this year and saw this M5 Competition.

Does anyone have this additional extension on their rear wheel arch trim?

My Canadian spec does not have this.

I searched on RealOEM and could not find this part.

Certain countries do not allow the wheel to protrude past the bodywork so this is a shortcut manufacturers use.

ALL UK M5's have that on them.

It may be part numbers:

Wheel arch trim, rear left
51 77 8 069 599
Wheel arch trim, rear right
51 77 8 069 600

RealOEM indicates it's held in with 6 plastic cap nuts and 2 metal screws.

Can anyone take a quick picture of their rear wheel well?

Thanks

They come in two types. Large for the Japanese cars and small for the European cars.
Large: 51 77 8 069 599 left, 51 77 8 069 600 right.
Small: 51 77 8 076 663 left, 51 77 8 076 664 right. Photo attached.

Thanks for the information and photos.

I think the part number for the Large Left should be - 51 77 8 069 599

Can I use existing nuts and screws or I need to buy some for small and long ones?

That is the Chinese model, not Japanese.
Btw the first pic is very interesting:
1) I have never seen that spoiler before, do you happen to know what it is? or the source of the image?
2) I didnt know standard g30 wheels would fit that nicely on F90.

m5 m6 arch trim

Hi there,

I know this is the wrong Forum for this but am trying to find the same part but for an M6.
I believe the Alpina B6 Gran Coupe and B6 Coupe have a similar equivalent.

Any pointers appreciated.

I know that this is an old post. But I would like to add that personally I would love this on my F90 LCI, as it can definitely help reduce stone chipping to the paint. Yes you can get protective film, but this is definitely a cheaper alternative for those who aren’t keeping the car for long, (lease, short term ownership, rare driving, etc.).

I think I might have to order those parts!

Autotecknic have them in carbon fiber too. They're quite large and more noticeable I think though.

Standard on ROW, I don't get why this part is not fitted on US cars.

I have had the OEM ones and changed to the carbon. They are pretty much the same as far as size and shape. The carbon ones are def more noticeable though especially since my car is grey.

Because they're not required by law and they're an eye sore jutting out from the wheel well like that. They're not even symmetrical. The carbon fiber is an improvement but still.

I feel completely the opposite, without the little extension, it's just too plain, the rear quarter panel is completely the same as a 5 series. Of course I understand you like the look without it.

The 5 series comes with them as well so I don't get that logic.

That's fine I don't mind if you disagree. Those that sell them appreciate you disagreeing with me. And if we're being honest they ABSOLUTELY would not be a thing if it simply wasn't some moronic European law. It just doesn't make any sense to me. The oem wheel set up doesn't extend outside the wheel well. Hence why everyone adds wheels spacers in the rear! Haha.

Plus They don't do anything. It's just a piece of plastic you're shoving in between the body and the trim at the top of the wheel. So bmw can save money and not design two different rear quarter panels. It doesn't come close to making it look like a wide body.
