No...purchased a 2019 M5 Comp back in March. Just curious where you were getting your car. Please post pics once you receive it.

Haha...not an allocation. I chose the dealership. Had to be the first 35 callers on the allocation day. We'll see what it looks like then decide whether to go for it.....and no premium paid for this....just like any other M5 Comp deal. Depends on your relationships!

He's the tech, not the advisor. He's definitely great to have working/servicing your car though

I'd recommend Daniel Hinojosa. John Swann is not my advisor, but he's a really nice guy as well. He's helped me in the past when Daniel had to step out.

So I go to pick up mine today and I find this etched all over my windows and windshields. Apparently some kind of safety etching. Looks hideous :-|. Unbelievable

That has to be aftermarket, something done by the dealership. I bet it will look fine when you tint the windows.

That's just a crappy upsell that mass market (Toyota/Honda) dealers use. Shame that a BMW dealer would stoop so low to make a couple of hundred bucks.

Just got home. Sorry for that short message earlier. The etching looks absolutely aftermarket/poorly done/messy. It would annoy me on a 50k 3 series but on a Jahre it disappoints me on a whole another level.
Frankly, what really bothered me how they tried to convince me first that it's required on all cars. I told them this was my 6th M car and not even my most expensive purchase (my s550 costs more) and I have never ever had a dealer do this for making an additional 199 on a car.

The car is stunning in person and was worth the wait; this shoddiness wasn't. I didn't close the deal as I needed time to cool off but I'm not warming up to the idea of buying a special edition car with garbage etching that was done without any consent whatsoever.

They are going to try to remedy this somehow. They are discussing tints, etc. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Can they swap out the windows from another M5 or compatible 5 series (assuming possible) - I guess it doesn't help with windshield. But the windshield is usually full of stuff like toll passes and such so won't stand out so much.

Agreed. The windows look especially bad. I can live with the windshields I suppose. That being said, I am pretty sure that I don't want them replacing my window glass and opening up the door panels, etc on a brand new car.

All this for 200 dollars. BMWNA should really be putting some guardrails in place to ensure their reputation isn't mangled by these cheap moves. And, definitely not with their special edition cars.
