Pulled the trigger...agonizing over color!
Decided to move forward on an F90 Comp. Unfortunately none of the color choices blow me away. I have previously owned a silver grey metallic E46 M3 over Imola Red. Loved that interior color! I currently have an F80 in mineral grey metallic over sahkir orange.
At this point I feel like I am done with grey. Given that the two blue colors are off the table (not a fan of either), I placed my order for Azurite over Full Aragon with greyline trim. After reading about how hard the color is to maintain (I live on a dirt road), I am having second thoughts. I don’t want to do a full individual color as I want to get the car before winter sets in (Minnesota). I am torn between the following: Azurite as previously mentioned. SG over Tartufo with plum trim - Saw a pic on the forum and thought that interior combo looked amazing. Feels like SG is too similar to my current MG F80 however. Bluestone over ? - Not sure what the best combo is with Bluestone. Leaning toward Aragon with silver. Donington over Tartufo - Would love to get plum trim, but not sure it goes well with DG. I am also not sure I like DG all that much. The dealer has an X3M in DG that I plan to check out so I can get a feel for the color. Needless to say, I am at the point now where all these combos are looping through my head like a broken record. Thoughts from the group would me much appreciated. Thanks, David |

Pix really don't do SG justice ... the color varies greatly depending on sunlight ... it has hues of blue, black, grey and purple. This and my preference for darker color swayed me away DG. Considered Azurite as well but decided it was too dark ... my 15' F10 M5 was BSM and just wanted something a little different. I would suggest PPF if you're concerned about maintaining the paint. Posted some pix for you of SG; PM me and I can text you some more. There is one pic that really shows the purple hue where the sun is directly hitting the paint. Good luck

Take a look at the BMW Individual colors... I wasn't impressed with any of the colors offered myself (except San Marino Blue).
I was torn between Nardo Grey and some shade of purple. Since I already have a Violet Gen 5 Viper, went with Nardo on Aragon (with purple ambient light). I like it a lot and that's all that matters. Good luck with your choice! |

I have Azurite over Tartufo which IMO is a great pairing. However it is going to be tough to maintain in your situation and when dirty doesn't look great. If PPF and ceramic coating can help with that it's a fantastic color choice.
If not, I'd likely pick SG. Donington looks great with black wheels but black wheels don't look great dirty. |

Thanks for the feedback. That SG does look good in the pics you posted Jose. Definitely has different dimensions depending on the lighting.
I ran by the dealer today and looked at the Donington. It is an interesting color and does look awesome with the black accents the Competition version is loaded with. I can also see how the black wheels would look good. Black just seems to pop against that color. Next Phase, how long did it take to get you individual order? I would love to get an individual color, but my concern is getting the car delivered in January or February. Currently my SA is estimating a September build with a late October delivery. I am definitely sold on either the Aragon or Tartufo interiors, no matter what color I decide on. Thanks again for the input, the pics in particular are very helpful! Thanks, David |

I love Azurite. If we had that color option I would have got it. My first choice was Donny wt Aragon. Someone took delivery first so I ended up with SG wt Aragon. I have no regrets as the Aragon really pops wt SG. Everyone at the shop I go to tell me that SG looks better on the M5. If you are looking to do CF contrast mods Donny might be a better option.

The car is currently option as Azurite over full Aragon with the grey wood trim. Also got Exec package and B&W. No driver assist or CCB’s. Style 789 wheels. One thing I know for certain, it is going to be a long 2 months... |

I love DG! Such as easy color to maintain.. having the car Xpel'ed i hardly have to wash the car and when i do, i cannot see any imperfections, it hides everything so well! Its absolutely awesome! (This is on my F85).

I have narrowed it down between Donington and Azurite. I do like the SG, but I feel like I have done that with my Mineral Grey F80. I go to the dealer to finalize my choice tomorrow, so one more night to ponder. |
