Rkp front lip fitment

Anyone have issue with their lip not fitting properly? My passenger side looks like shit. coming off the bumper. About a 1/4” gap. Never experienced this w/rkp products.

Should not be the case, can you please email us at support@ind-distribution.com with photos and perhaps we can give you some suggestions.

Reply sent over. My guess is the car has ceramic coating which is causing the 3M tape to not adhere properly. Also please make sure that the installer used the 3M promoter that we add to each shipment. We have now shipped/Sold 150+ RKP front lips for the F90 M5 with zero issues.

It’s real. I don’t buy fake products if I can avoid. Now do you have any suggestions after all of the questions? Or do I have to post screenshots.

I had mine installed two (2) days ago and it seems to be fitting like a glove.

Your front passenger side is off where it meets the bumper; mine is worse.

Yeah, I saw that shortly after I took the pic and have since re-secured both corners by pulling them up and re-seating the double-sided tape. IMO it’s not sticking as perfect as I would like, but it’s fitting a bit more flush than before. Good Eye!

I did the same thing. Tried to re seat it but once water gets in there after a couple weeks of driving the tape just pulls away from the bumper, starting from the outside edge.

I am convinced the lips are slightly warped. We might need to move to PM before IND-Distribution starts asking if yours is “genuine”.

We 100% support the community here and will send you a replacement lip if needed. Still never got a reply to my email in support from you and it was very vague who you bought it from. I'd recommend contacting us first before taking something that could have been an install error to the forums.

Let us know if you need anything support and we will take care of you (support@ind-distribution.com). Anyone reading this thread, please make sure that the installers uses the 3M adhesive promoter (make sure that the promoter is on for 5 mins before adding the lip) that we include in the box and also make sure that the 3M tape is not going over any ceramic coatings. We have now shipped/sold 150+ F90 front lips and the feedback from my body tech is that the lip is perfect.

Thanks Nate! At this time both sides seem secure as I’ve been applying pressure to each side (where it’s taped) a couple of times daily and it feels like it’s staying firmly in place.

I personally didn’t install this RKP Lip, as I needed a lift (my ramps just won’t work on my F90 but works great on my E60 550i) so Ryan@IND recommended “PSI Precision Sports Industries“ in East Orlando which is very close to where I live. They seemed to be experienced and appeared to do a great job and for a reasonable price.

I’ll continue to keep an eye on it in the time being and if I need assistance, I’ll give you a shout!

Thanks!

Ps. I purchased the Lip from Autotalent - https://autotalent.com/products/rkp-...RoCmisQAvD_BwE

Nate, i appreciate your input and support to the community.

I don't like that you're telling someone not to share their experience with the rest of us. As you can see, clutched was able to help another member by posting his experience.

Imagine if bradleyjs hadn't been made aware of the issue with his lip. We all know what happens to these motors when something punctures the oil cooler.

Sharing an experience is perfectly fine (positive or negative) and the reason we have a community like this place. I just wanted to determine if the original poster had a genuine part so we can get them a replacement going. We have yet to determine if the lip is real and which dealer it was purchased from.

I will have the vendor that I've purchased the lip from reach out to IND if they cannot re adjust the lip; and no, I am not interested in sharing which vendor I purchased the lip from. Maybe it's just a bad batch or maybe bradleyjs's lip isn't genuine either? Obviously now the forum sees that others have the same issue. I never reached out to IND looking for a replacement. I am still waiting for some suggestions from the second post in this thread as to whether or not there is actually a way to adjust the lip. Hopefully if can just be re adjusted. For the record, here are more pics:

This fitment is not normal at all. I’ll be waiting for the vendor to reach out to us so we can take care of you.

Out of curiosity, is there any true difference between the RKP and RW Carbon lip? I know RKP was the first to market and RW Carbon essentially copied their design, but is there any actual difference in quality?

Not enough to pay 2x more or whatever it is ... destroyed a sh*tload of front lips.

Just installed RW CF Side Skirts and the quality is good as is the fitment.
