Sigh, agreed.

Speed limits DO NOT naturally equate to safety (all too often, they cause frustration which leads to...), driver training does. Ask the Germans. Well, ask them when their roads aren't melting.

Having gone from 993 to 996 to 997.1 to 997.2 to 991.1 to 991.2; Porsche has yet to let me down in chassis adjustment combined with weight addition. Their engineering is so damn good that it wont bother me. The 992 standard Carrera S is 5 seconds faster at the Ring than the 991.2 albeit with more HP (7:25). I do agree that at some point the weight has to be cut off.

I read about the gps speed limit too; non factor for me as its 190 mph unless I read it wrong. I dont think Ill see that LOL. Ive come close at 189 before but on a closed road and in CA those are hard to find.

I didnt find that the change from the 993 to 996 was that impactful from a chassis standpoint (compared to other iterations) but the 991 was clearly a game changer in performance and driveability with the longer base and lower lines. That chassis (as you know) is amazing. I expect the 992 to be no different.

The GPS article I read said it would also limit Urban and City speeds. But it’s all speculation until it’s released.

I have to seriously doubt that... more like Urban Legend than Urban Speed

992 would be a dud then and I would walk if not run... away.

Insane, corrupt politicians are setting these "regulations" for serious kickbacks. Tesla's one quarter of profit in 10 years came from US "States regs" that required GM, etc to pay Tesla for EV credits. Tesla booked $420 million in the quarter and "made" $390M (actually lost $30M). Didn't do squat for the enviro....but made some politicians some $$$$. In Cali , Hydro was redefined as not renewable...so utilities could not claim the benefit...pay up...doesn't do squat for the enviro...but it makes politicians $$$$. A guy from France just posted the enviro/fuel tax to buy a X3M there costs $12,000 US....same old, same old, everywhere. Just like our charcoal filters on the inlet side in case our M5 burps....cut me a break...WE are headed to mandated EV....not because the free market is going there is Mass Numbers....only because politicians are picking winners and losers and making the winners pay up.....a very sad deal.

I rode in this boat at a AMG school event. It’s really, really big, and I think it’s a fail due to it’s size. Big 4 doors are a dying breed. Hope you’re well Vic!
