Installed today. I can happily report that it's plug and play with zero coding or programming required (for 2020 M5s). Looks absolutely great!

Those of you with 2018 or 2019 M5s are out of luck though.

2018 and 19s need coding n that's about it.

Yep, tracking. I just meant out of luck for doing the swap without coding and avoiding the flickering issue you mentioned previously.

Ya. I got an offer from another guy for like $1500 or something. Just crazy. But that's what they're going for on eBay as of late.

I know it’s a lot, but I’ve spent more on less. It’s under warranty and required no coding, so I have no regrets.

Why do you think it didn't require coding? Pretty sure it has to be coded for the video output to fit the display. It was probably built in to pricing. Do understand the warranty bit. That's why I bought my lci tail lights from a dealer. And already had 1 warranty claim.

It didn't require coding because 2020 M5s have iDrive 7 lite. 2018 and 2019s would require coding. Mine (2020) had no coding performed and worked just fine. Full resolution and full video.

I had my local dealership match an online dealership's price and they hooked me up with discounted labor.

I am cheap and will have to wait for one of those $600 deals. Not a priority. I’d buy Dinan turbo inlets first.

Found one on eBay the other weekend for around $600 or so. Vendor was partsformore out of Latvia. Only took a week to make it to Hawaii. They tend to have combo kits that they sell the screen with idrive controller, etc but you can message them for just the screen.

Also as a confirmation if you have a 2020 you do not need to do any coding. Direct plug and play.

I thought about buying from eBay or other sellers (other than dealerships) online, but every time I looked at the pictures, the date on the screens was way off. They were all 2018 or 2019 dates and that got me worried about shenanigans.

I’m glad you got a good deal and it worked out.

Also noticed this one doesn't seem to have the little black plastic peg that comes down near the plug area like some of the others have. Is that an issue? Not sure what that peg does.

I was in a new g30 this weak for a loaner and the 12 inch screen was awesome.
