Got the beast, few questions

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey gents,

Got the beast in my garage a few question if I may:

1. why do the setting always default to efficient, comfort & comfort every time I get back in, there must be something I am missing here ?

2. comfort access locking, other cars I have you just walk away and the car locks itself, did I miss something here ? this one has touch the handle to open. I saw on the screen an option to lock, but it says ( after a brief while with no action the car will lock itself), in what like 10 minutes , lol. ?

3. Shift speeds what is the difference in D3 shift speed and S3 shift speed.
I see the S says sequential on the screen, so is this for the paddles ??

Thanks lads.

Back to that by default, you can program your M keys to your liking and just hit those TWICE to activate. So far no one has cracked the code to allow a default to something other than comfort, efficient, comfort.

2. comfort access locking, other cars I have you just walk away and the car locks itself, did I miss something here ? this one has touch the handle to open. Not that I found. Note you can also lock the car from the right hand button on the trunk when you close the trunk.

3. Shift speeds what is the difference in D3 shift speed and S3 shift speed.

Yes, S for sequential or manual. Shift speed is the same. D is automatic, S is sequential.

Also, why does everyone say you have to press the M buttons twice? My M2 button does require that, but for my M1 button, I only have to press once. Is something wrong with my car lol?

You only have to press it once if you leave traction control on; if you put it in MDM or turn DSC off, you have to press twice to confirm the traction control settings.

Makes sense, my M1 is all Sport plus, D3, with traction control on.

M2 is the same but traction off, and then I just bump it over to manual for launches

Makes total sense now, I was also wondering the same thing, my dealer said press it twice, then I realize only press it once.

Cool so if traction control is active one touch M button, gotcha.

That's how I set both M's up. Touch M1 twice, all sport plus and DSC off. Now it's ready for LC with the trans in manual.

So you can lock the car on the handle to:
Key FOB in pocket - press the 3 little bumps on the right side of the inner handle.
