Exhaust clearance
Hey all, anyone have any insight on what the clearance here is supposed to be passenger rear most exhaust hanger bolt? It hits exhaust currently when going over bumps (you can sort of see where the bolt/stud is rounded) and was wondering what my options are. It is stock exhaust. Thanks in advance

I’m curious why they’re moving independent from one another.

That is the stud fixed to the body that the hanger bracket and nut attach to. They don’t move independently. The exhaust is moving too much or has moved. The question is why. There are also rubber mounts before the differential that could be adding play. If everything is perfect, I’d move to the front and look at motor mounts.

A stock exhaust is too loud? In efficient mode? Is ASD active or disabled? Are the valves plugged in? Is this a CS with MPE and no valves?

That makes sense — it can be quiet if you want. I have primaries and secondaries and ASD delete and titanium valved exhaust and it is civilized in efficient mode and nasty in sport plus.

Really fast BMW's dont have burble tunes - I had the burbles removed in software - it just sounds like you're trying to hard with them active. AWE isn't all that loud I have the switchpath.

Regarding the original thread subject the car is going to be on a lift next Friday so we'll see what the root cause is. Will update when I know more. |

I had similar clearance issue on my 2019. fixed by loosing the back section and realigning things, basically the whole exhaust, then really fixed when I swapped to the AWE exhaust. |
