M5 rear light tint

what does everyone think?
I think they look amazing whilst the lights are on but not sure if they are a little to dark when lights are off?

Has anyone had them tinted a little lighter?

Mine are tinted in 'light smoke', as opposed to the 'dark smoke' I assume has been used on yours. It's enough to provide a really nice effect, whilst not looking too far from OEM.

I also did the same with the reflectors, as I didn't like the reflector delete option.

Everyone's opinion is different to any mod, but I don't like the dark tint at all. In fairness, the rear lights are always on when driving, so the full 'darkness' is only when parked. If you like them, that's all that matters.

Tongue in cheek?

On a forum where every other post relates to pops and bangs and other garish modifications, I'd say tinting lights is the least thing local plod should worry about.

EDIT: With light smoke, the reflectors still work as intended.

Yeah I think I’m going to go light smoke, keep the bottom reflectors as is.

Police won’t be bothered where I live. Never once been pulled (touch wood)

I think it looks very bad with the lights off, way too dark. I'd redo in lighter tint for sure.

I would go light smoke as it will look good on and much better when off.

I had purchased the whole taillight that was painted rather than film tinted. It looked decent with the lights off but it looked awesome with the LED lights on.

Not my cup of tea....not on a $100k car.

This is something someone would do to their Civic.

I like them with the lights on but not off as it looks like a gangster car. I think I would run with the slightly less obvious smoked looked. But if you like it, leave it......she's your baby!!
