windshield (sorry, windscreen) replacement recommendations?

I've only been in the UK a couple of years so never had to have this done before. What's the best option? Do the mobile guys do a good job? Definitely want OEM glass. Thanks!

At first I was thinking about going to a bmw dealership but now I’m thinking that they probably outsource it anyway so just looking for a recommendation for a competent shop.

Make sure you get a genuine BMW windscreen, as there is an issue with copies on the head up display.

Thanks. I found a place local to me that sounds pretty competent and price is good (around £800 installed). They order the glass from BMW (OE) which should be same as OEM but will have the BMW logo. Install on Thursday.

On a related note I was surprised how easily the glass cracked... pretty minor rock chip. First windshield replacement for me in about 30 years.

Just wanted to follow up to say I can happily recommend Old School... I’m pretty picky and it’s good as new as far as I can tell (with all sensors/cameras working properly). Really nice people (family business). They do quite a bit for BMW and McLaren. Original BMW windscreen with ‘Connected Drive’ logo (which I find a bit odd actually) below cameras and all.

Seems to be very thin glass. Didn't even see the stone, just heard a tiny pop...not even loud, result massive chip and spider crack an inch wide 😣 not in line of vision so think I will get repair as my luck with this car not so great. Screw in rear tyre right on shoulder in first 20miles, now nasty stone chip, less than 1000 miles. Only had car for 4 weeks, and for 2 of those it was in airport car park. Car itself is a master piece of automotive engineering tho. I still look at it and cannot believe I own it

ive got a stone chip in mine the other day, so going through insurance via windscreen excess not a good option?

I was thinking thinner glass also, quite a few on the F10's M's have gone even one driving over a speed hump.
