Hello I'm currently in the market for a tune so I'm just doing some research. Stumbled upon this RKTunes Video and at the 5:40 mark he states the motors will have issues past 650 ft lb of torque and suffer the fate of a lot of other F90s which I have been seeing (my friends included).

Apparently the F90 platform uses the same rods as the F10? Not sure if someone can confirm this but I see even on just the stage 1 DME Tuning offers brings the torque up to 700 and 740 on the stage 2 which is amazing in terms of gains but my question is how is the reliability? Can it withstand back to back runs at my local drag strip w/o issues or is it sort of a gamble?

Very interested in this thread as I am considering a tune as well. Tech at my dealer says with 4 x cat delete, downpipes, intake and tune they are getting 720 hp. I too am concerned about reliability but they claim no problems.

F90 Rods are different (has a reinforcing ridge which the F10 did not) - the tech manual reference notes the difference I believe and someone posted the part differences in an earlier thread: rods, extra piston ring for better oil scavaging, etc. That being said, if and/or how much stronger the new re-engineered rods are is anyone’s guess.

Interesting, some say it's same part # some say different regarding the rods. Will try and find the thread on this forum about the differences and have a read. Regardless though you are definitely right it really is anyone's guess how reliable they are compared to the F10 ones.

Been hearing/seeing too many horror stories of damaged motors, buddy of mine just popped his motor doing the same thing so I am trying to be very cautious/conservative when it comes to tuning. Last thing I need is a tow truck from the drag strip.

I am getting the stage 3 tune. Cable arrived and scheduled to write the tune file Thursday night via remote, since I am located in Taiwan. Very anxious to see what will happen. Currently my car has GruppeM intake and Keller Performance downpipe and midpipe. Hopefully with this tune I can be rid of the CEL. And enjoy the performance enhancements.

Can anyone let me know what to expect after the tune?

The octane used in the runs is 93
According to the DME tuning website it states that stage 1 is 700HP and 670TQ however in this thread the picture shows 720HP and 700TQ?

Expect to wear your seatbelt you are about to get some real power out of this tune!! I had a S3 on my F90 and boy was it fast I would beat 488, McLaren 570, Hellcats, zo6 etc.

Enjoy the tune brother let us know what you think!!

Turbo upgrades but the F90 platform is not doing so well with turbos. In some cases I have actually seen lost power so I would stay with stage 1 or 2 as of now.

because clearly people dont understand anything except bigger numbers lol

People actually think they can run stage 3, and beat on the car every weekend and not break anything.

Tune conservatively, and you can beat it more. If you wanna go balls out, do the supporting mods.

any black Friday specials? I would like to know the specifics of the tune. What are the main differences between DME and BMW3 and JB4?

Black Friday pricing is already live at 20% off via link below. DME and BM3 are both ECU flashes while JB4 is a plug in piggyback. DME is known to make the most power on the F90 platform:

Is it an OBD2 flash? Can I switch between pump and race gas myself?
How is the reliability and any safety precautions?
Also, do you know if e85 kits are available for f90's? I am scheduled for delivery of my 21 F90 Comp and need to get some "stuff". Thanks for your time.
