In reality, Avus is quite different to MBB, unlike my SMB which I could barely tell the difference from MBB when they were parked next to each other.

Very notable difference particularly in poor light when Avus looks like a flat dark-navy blue but changes colour considerably in the sun. IMO, SMB and MBB are better colours than Avus as they stand out better regardless of light.

From northwest
this is my second f90 and it's a competition pack
Highly specced with some carbon m performance bits, I hate the sound of this one, it won't pop or bang due to opf What's the way round this |

There are a number of threads on here discussing it and exploring ways round it. Like this one : Pops and Bangs for xmas https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1680497 I'm thinking that I want BMW to confirm they won't update my ECU SW when it next goes for a service - don't want to lose them 😀 |

Ah.. nice to see one that's as dirty as mine at the moment! Good to see another MBB M5C in the Northwest. Looks awesome 😎
Here's what seems to be the the main thread on the subject of pops.. M5 Competition question??? https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1651399 Forgot to mention b4 that it's not OPF related as I believe all UK M5C have OPFs - purely down to the ECU. Don't let the hopefully temporary absence of a few pops detract from the overall experience - even without them is defo an M car in my mind. Also love your laser lights matching the MBB 👌It wasn't an option on the 19MY. |

Although I'm very happy with the colour choice - Singapore Grey - it does make cosmetic add ons somewhat debatable...
I have replaced the front and side chrome grills for gloss black, along with a black M badge, plus ordered the gloss black reflector deletes from Acexxon, but stuck there for the time being. I have gloss black tailpipes. I've had M performance carbon pro spoiler and rear splitter in my basket a few times, I just wonder if they're actually that noticeable and therefore worth adding, even with the carbon roof? I have more recently contemplated gloss black mirror caps and maybe even painting the OEM the rear lip spoiler the same, but similar dilemma because of the car colour, plus, the car looks fine with body coloured parts in any case. Just rambling... |

But, i would say the rear pro spoiler and diffuser are 100% worth having on Black/Singapore Grey, they change the whole look, and line of the rear, far more aggressive imho |

Sully, Does it not pop and bang on free revving when stationary ?. It will never sound as good as a non OPF car, but should sound ok, unless there is some truth in the very new OPF cars having software that reduced exhaust sound even more. My 2019 Comp OPF car, sounds OK, but nothing like as characterful as my M4 with MPE. There has recently been a tuning box introduced to get around the OPF, i will try and find the thread, but after that, you have to remap and replace the exhaust to get rid of the OPFs for the sound, therefore blowing your warranty. Not sure how you paid for your car, but some dealers are now more aware about mods, and the car being on finance etc, in the recent light of Rickys/LLF exploits, and can cancel agreements etc. Looked at a few cars recently, and the OPFs are spoiling sound on most new sports cars, which is pretty depressing. Have a chat with DMS about the OPF and tuning options, ive heard first hand that they are pretty good, and Mike at Motech seems to know whats going on too. Will try and find the thread mentioned above. Got it https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threa...fs-etc.219724/ Last edited by Simon H; 01-04-2020 at 03:27 AM.. |

If Paul removes, or gutts the OPFs, the car will still need mapping, therefore voiding the warranty, and its the OPFs that are the cause of the noise reduction.Although saying that, im not up to speed yet, on this new software theory, of quietening the car down. I dont think there is an easy route to take on this subject ?

Hi all... been nosing around the forums for a while now and never noticed this thread!..
I’ve had a 2019 non comp M5 since August last year.. coming from a 30 Jahre F10 I wanted a non comp as I found the 30 Jahre a little too firm over my previous non comp pack F10. A few thousand miles in with the F90 and I absolutely love it.. my daily is a 2019 Range Rover Sport but I enjoy the M5 so much I’m contemplating selling that! Car was individual Azurite Black but I wrapped it straight away to Frozen Dark Silver. I’ve added the M Performance carbon rear diffuser and front corner splitters, which I opted to wrap in body colour as didn’t like the carbon contrast! Also added the rear reflector delete sourced from Imran@Evolve and then done a bit of coding myself via BimmerCode. The exterior is ceramic coated as is full interior, makes the seats much easier to manage and clean. I live near Chester in the North West, would love to hook up with fellow owners sometime for a coffee and car talk! Cheers, Andrew. Last edited by Andrew Gamble; 01-13-2020 at 10:32 AM.. |
