I can't make a comparison between a 991.1 and .2, since I haven't driven a .1, but I can tell you a stock .2 is much faster than a stock M5. My stock 991.2 is pretty is faster than my JB4 F90 on map1.

The feedback you get from the Porsche is also phenomenal, whereas the F90 is lacking (torque converter, electric steering etc.).

Agreed. I have the .2TTS but I would just go for a .1 TTS OP. It's still a lot of car for the money and you won't regret it. Besides CarPlay, I cant see anything missing that you'd miss.

I have gone with the rational choice and I am ordering a 992 Turbo S. Makes no sense to pay the ridiculous price used 991.2/991.1 Turbo S currently hold in Brazil.

Will get rid of the M5 and probably buy a 911 S 992 to drive meanwhile.

So you took my advice? I'm waiting on a 992 TTS to replace the M5 as well.

I recently switched from a 991.1 Turbo S to a 971 Panamera Turbo S e-Hybrid.

While I did the switch for family reasons, I have to say I am enjoying the Turbo S e-Hybrid more than the 991.1 Turbo S. The car has a lot of grip and it drives like it is on rails. While I have not taken it to the mountains yet, around town and on the highways I don't think I'm losing any performance and I'm finding I drive it faster because it feels more effortless. Lot of low end torque from the electric motor offsets the turbo lag and makes city driving and weaving through traffic a breeze.

Plus with my 991.1 TTS I was getting 11-12mpg and now I'm running 24mpg with the same driving style.

These cars are worth it for their awesome Launch Control.

Turn one knob one click, brake down easy, mat the throttle and you're at 5600rpm. Release brake and GO !

You can do it 50 times in a row without cool down nonsense.

I watched them at Barber Launch for 6 hours...crazy...

Im still debating whether to first get a 992 C4S or C2S just to enjoy the drivetrain/chassis (like Ive done before) since the Turbo S isnt due for a bit of time. I dont mind losing money when it comes to Porsche, its worth the drive to me personally.

Or I could grab a 500 mile used 2019 Turbo S- cobb it and walk way from alot of cars out there yet still take it to the bank, mall, shopping center and not give a fuck.... hummmmm decisions. For now the 991.2 is really still shining bright.

Thanks for the pic of the 992 TTS. Not sure about the script that they are using for this generation of 911s.

It is due to arrive in the second semester. Probably from September onwards. There are 15 orders previous to mine, so the car is probably arriving November to December.

If you can source or get a used 991.2 Turbo S for cheap, I would definitely go for it. Got to drive the 992, and although it is a massive step up in the interior and features department, it doesn't move the chassis game that far away from the 991.2. It is definitely better, but I would say the old girl can stay party with the new one.

In this scenario, the performance of the 991.2 Turbo S is a no brainer.

Got to drive the Panny Turbo S, I found it to be more of a luxury barge than I expected. It does handle pretty well for what it is, but it is far too similar to my current M5 F90 to justify. It is like the mixture of a M5 F90 with a 7 Series.

In the end between the Panny and my M5 F90, I am more inclined to keep the M car. I think the way a 911 feels is unmatched by the Panny or the M5, both come close in many regards (and I do like the Panny's steering and suspension more than the M5's) but it is not the real deal.

I almost switched to the AMG GT63 S, but its price made it pretty much unjustifiable.

The truth is that I need a usable, fast, luxurious and fun vehicle, and the M5/RS7/E63 S are pretty close to perfect here, but perfection is achieved only in the 911.

Congrats Carlos! I have been away form the page for some time...

I would say - 991.1 if you are going for heavier mods.
991.2 - if you are staying stock = but I would wait until after or near the 992.1 release to allow for some value hit to take place.
992.1 if you are keeping and not modding. It is going to be a low 10 second car (10.2 at least out of the box) at 135-138 MPH car.

Subscribed!

991.2 TT has 991.2TTS improvements, it runs 991.TTS turbos

I have M5C and 991.2TTS, I am aware of 991.1TTS and 991.2TT as drove some, 10000% get the 991.2 over the 991.1, doesnt matter if going to keep FBO or hunt for bigger HP.

Few things to consider:
- improved looks exterior - drl, taillight, bumpers etc
-improved looks interior, steering wheel is a piece of art compared to 2010 cayenne style in 991.1
- new ECU with antilag function
- new pdk tune (gt3 style) with some minor upgrades too
- new intake manifold
- wheels are nicer (depends on actual car)
- NEWER car
- new multimedia interface including apple car play
- you can easily add just the 991TTS turbos later on, or... GT2RS turbos

if you track on a circuit the car is so much better than 991.1
also LC is way, way better than 991.1

I want to engage the new chassis. My test drive really allowed me to see the changes in steering and body flex and yaw. I was impressed over my current 991.2 (I went home and drove the .2 right way) so I was able to reflect well. My dealer knows me so they allowed me to push the car on the express way and some unique back roads; the car is fast and capable of great street performance as I would not track it. I agree the .2 Turbo S is of course the faster car but I am in for the new chassis and interior (if I get the car at all )
