Rear seat usage....
With the M5CS being announced yesterday there seem to be a lot of comments from people saying that they won't get the car because it is a true 4 passenger. So, that makes me wonder, how many of the current M5 owners have put 3 passengers in the rear bench?
When I had my F10 M5 I don't think I ever had more than 4 in the car.

Ah, great point. I should have included an option to say that the full bench in needed for pets/storage.

I have a wife and three youngish kids. Twins are 11 and the boy is 4. Works out perfectly. I'm at the stage right now where if the fun car can't seat 5 people I don't get it. I like knowing that my fun car can have the whole family in it. Allows me to drive it more. Post nesting I will go back to coupes and what not for my fun car.

I have 2 kids so technically will work for me. However, I rather have the comfort creature features like the rear/side sunshades, driving assistance plus pkg, B&W sound and the regular M5 seats in the front as they are more comfortable for daily driving. Heck I even opted for the regular base M5 which I will be picking up soon.
That said the rear 2 bucket seat layout in the M5 CS does look cool. The cool factor alone deserves a good look at it lol. |

I have four little kids (oldest is 6) and have never used the middle seat on the bench. I don't do a ton of kid hauling in the m5c, but when I do I keep it to 2 kids max. I use this car primarily for outings with my wife and for work... lots of opportunities to push WOT on the rural roads between my business locations!

Once in a while all three of my sons are in the M5 rear seat. Oldest is 5'11", middle is 6'3", youngest 6'0", they fit fine. LOL.

I have my family visiting from overseas (well, when Covid allows!) and I wanted to have the ability to have the child seat in the middle and leaving room for two adults either side. I had my name down for the CS with my dealership but have ordered for a Competition instead once it became clear there was no middle isofix mount.
Plus, I think the CS is going to come with a pretty hefty lease payment! |
