I just bought a set of OEM "all-weather" mats from Tischer for my E91. They look and fit great and in fact are made by WeatherTech! (stamped on the back) But they're definitely OEM as they come in BMW packaging and are the same ones you can find hanging on hooks at your dealer's parts/accessories department.

They came with a set of those screw hook things (in the other post here) to hold down the driver's mat.

All in all, I'm quite pleased with them....and the price was great (free shipping too!). It takes some searching on the Tischer site as they have a gazillion types of mats (some OEM and some not). The ones I got (like the ones in the pic here) have the item number "E90FrontRubberMats". They have the rear ones too.

I did actually call WeatherTech several months ago to inquire about these "digital mats" as they sounded like good protection....but after some discussion with the CS rep it was determined that they didn't actually have "digital mats" for a 08 E91 wagon with the MT. Apparently (so they say) these things are very particular to individual models and floor layouts....hence the "digital" part (they use some sort of "digital" process for getting precise floor measurements. Whatever..... ). Now, I don't know that the front footwells in an E91 are different from an E90, but that's what WeatherTech seemed to feel. My point is that maybe they sent the OP the wrong mat (or you gave them the wrong info when ordering) and hence the mats you received actually DO NOT fit your car.

Anyway, the OEM ones from Tischer seem great and cost a lot less than what I've seen elsewhere.

I just received the all weather mats from weather tech. i find them to be pretty cheaply made. They are much lighter less substantial than the OEM BMW all weather mats. I bought weather tech mats years ago, when they were made in England, and they were very heavy and pliable. Today's version seems lighter and stiffer and the black color is a muted washed out black. I do like the finger grips on the bottom. I guess they are more focused on profit margin over quality these days. of course just my opinion

Interesting, but not my experience. The ones I bought last year seem identical to the old ones from my M3 that I bought about 10 years ago. Wonder if they changed materials in the last year?

Look up a couple posts - the BMW oem mats ARE made by WeatherTech as their name is stamped in the back of the factory winter mats. I guess everyone thinks there are a bunch of elves running around at the BMW factory making all the parts that go in to a car right there on site. Quite a few things are made by other manufacturers for BMW and they just stick the BMW logo on them.

I never heard of so many guys wanting 'fashionable' mats for the winter There is nothing fashionable about winter here in PA - it's simply 4 months of gloom, slop, salt, and shit

I'm looking for protection - not fashion. I've always had the flat style rubber winter mats and frankly THEY suck

All the slop and salt runs off the edges of the mat into the carpet - come spring you have a white, hard crusty ring all around the edge of each mat - which doesn't all come out and eventually ruins the carpet.

So I'll put up with my 'rubbermaid' mats for 4 months - and then have pristine carpet the other 8 months when it really matters...

Weathertech used to outsource some of their production to Cannon, in England...but that changed about 6 or more years ago when they brought all of the production back to their US plant. If you read some of what they write in those 3+ page ads they run in all of the car mags, you get the story. I had Cannon/Weathertech winter mats in my MINI 9 years ago and I can say that they're exactly the same construction as the OEM/Weathertech ones I just bought. fwiw.

The weathertech mats I bought years ago from Cannon are very different from the weatherrtech mats I just received yesterday, for one the Cannon were advertised as being made of virgin rubber, they had a red piping stripe and were very, very heavy and extremely pliable. As I stated the mats I rcvd yesterday have no red strip, are lighter and stiffer. They are indeed very, very different. As for weathertech making the OEM BMW mats, these are different as well. I have them in hand too, the OEM mats are heavier and have a different pattern on them, including the BMW logo.

My point is just stating my opinion on the quality differences. I'm sure these new mats will work just fine

As for fit...mine is near perfect, and I have 6 MT/clutch, so perhaps you got the wrong set?
What kind of velcro did you use?

I can't get standard 3M adhesive-backed loops to stick to my carpet. My OEM E9X rubber mat slides forward and the clutch gets stuck on the lip. The hexagonal anchors are too far forward to prevent these. Kind of annoying for OEM material, but similar issue to the one described w/ WT.

I made the same mistake. I was expecting a thick heavy rubber not plastic. How disappointing that was. I returned them and got the OEM ones from the dealer. 100x better.

Well, the OEM ones that I posted the picture of DO have a "lip" and they're technically made by Weathertech.

But as 1QuickWS6 said, no mat - lipped or not - will totally protect your carpets from all of the gunk that comes from real winter. I always get some crud building up around the base of my accelerator that I have to scrub off in the spring. Just the way it goes if you're going to drive your car in the winter.

All the more reason why some folks indulge in the luxury of a winter beater car. Or you could move to Florida.

Or get one of these things like the truckers have. Of course, you'll have to attach a running board on which to mount it....

Just being practical man.

a 0.5" lip is nothing

You need 2 inches, lip and in some places 4 inches lip...to avoid staining carpets.

I bought industrial strength "", velcro pads (with a stick glue back)...you can also epoxy them onto your mats

I just used the one side on the mats, as our bmw oem anchors do the rest.
