Why??
They are fully forged....
Aspect ratio too low
I've been running 30 series profile tires during last maybe 10 years of summers where I live? Never had an issue with damaged wheels due to aspect ratio.

Matter of fact is I have a classic 8 series on 20" Alpinas with the rear tire being 285/25/20, and those wheels are cast. Never had an issue there either.

Most of people on F90 platform run 21's with the same tire sizes and everybody has been ok. But of course depends where you live and how the roads are.

If I lived in Montreal or maybe Michigan, then maybe it would be a different story :

Having a Donington Grey X5M... I must say that the F90 wears this color better than any car. The car looks spectacular!

Executive rocket ship. With x-drive just about everything else on the road beware. And on a long desert highway stretch forget about it.

I just bought a Donnington CPO 18 M5 base. It was the color I liked most. Will be painting the chrome door handles and adding black front and side grilles. And a JB4.

When you are this far out do you carry a spare tire? How did the hood and front bumper hold up to all the highway travel?

No spare, just the tire repair kit and a couple cans of Fix a Flat. The tires were fairly new. Maybe it's foolish, but are you only going to drive this car where you are 10 minutes away from help? I've probably driven 900,000 miles and can't remember ever having a tire related issue........except in the city. Have had several screws and nails impale themselves into my tires over the years driving around town, but they resulted in slow leaks and a trip to the tire shop. I used Fix a Flat once on my wife's car in a parking lot and made it to the shop ok. I have never changed a tire on the side of the road (knock on wood). Ya gotta live your life. I think about having tire issues, but I don't dwell on it. That being said, I did always feel better with the run flats on my long M550 trips.

The car was ceramic coated and held up amazing well over the 22,000 miles I had it. The front was pristine at turn in. Probably just lucky, as I already have a couple tiny dings on the hood of the LCI after only 5,000 miles (also ceramic coated).

Starting an 1,800 mile trip next week. Can't wait.

A mini spare kit is about $400. Many of us have had good luck with not getting flats but it definitely can happen and a slime kit or plug kit won’t always work, such as with sidewall gashes. Then you are stuck waiting for a flatbed and probably overpaying at a dealer or repair shop or maybe staying somewhere overnight until a shop opens. I like to have a spare on trips. Sometimes I take one of my snow or summer wheels (depending on season) and put it in the trunk with a jack and wrench, but that does take up trunk space.

Hwy 21 about 30 miles east of Milford, UT on the way to Great Basin National Park in NV. An insanely fun 75 mile stretch of nothing.

2019 F90 M5 in Donington over Silverstone

Wheels:
Signature SV104 Tripple Black Tinted
21X10 ET22 MPS4s 275/30/21
21x11 ET24 PMS4s 295/30/21

Other mods on the car:
- Lowered on OEM BMW M-Performance HAS kit
- RK style front lip
- OEM BMW M-Performance sideskirts
- Mode Carbon Trophy diffuser
- Remus Exhaust
- OEM BMW M-performance Pro spoiler
- LCI Taillights
- IND Front Reflector Deletes
- Acexxon Rear Reflector Deletes

I also got the weights of Comp wheels vs the Signature Wheels. Signature wheels in 21", still came out slightly lighter that the OEM comp wheels in 20". So I'm very happy with the results.
