This thing is hard to find. Would people trust Aliexpress? I’m guessing no way but it’s the only new and reasonably priced option I found.

If anybody is looking for this I can get the Oem one that works with the idrive 6 cars I supply and code them. 😎 you can’t just buy any Oem 12.3 it does not work that way

My car is a 2020 with iDrive 7 (or maybe I’ve seen it described as iDrive 7 “lite”). I was under impression for my car I could buy any OEM 12.3 and it would work. Is that correct?

If it is correct I’d still be interested to know how much for the screen from you (without the coding since I wouldn’t need it). PM me if that is an option. Thanks.

I was just burned bh Aliexpress. So stay away from them. Bought a new one. Got a used one instead. Seller claims its not even the screen they sent.

Called Amex and filed a claim.

Cheapest option is still just to scan eBay periodically. Took me a couple months but i like most on here eventually got lucky. Tons of G30 wrecks around the world to supply this.

Hi all, I feel like every time I re-read this post, I get more confused. I have a 2019 M5C and I believe I have iDrive 7, but not sure what value I should get when looking at the settings. I have gesture control, which mentions you need iDrive 7, but there's WAY too much info out there.

A lot of searches say to look into the navigation, but I have an option for current version when I go to the Vehicle, then iDrive. I get TB/MB for telephone and media, then both have -007.022.002. In the navigation I get 111174.3.210 and Road Map NA EVO 2018-2. Very confused.

Also was wondering if anyone had a good source other than eBay to find a screen. I'd like to find a fairly new one if not new. And if I am able to find one, does it need to be coded? Seems like it will, but seems like some members have gotten it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only 2020 doesn’t need coding as they have iD7 “light”. So yes you will need coding.

I was able to find an excellent condition screen in Germany and got it in a few days ago. Cost a little under $600 which I didn't think was bad. The car it came off of only had like 1500 miles on it. Just got to work on get it coded.

Has anyone had any issues with the screen not being loose? I did the swap and the screen basically rocks back and forth. It's not flush against the back dash area. I'm wondering if I'm missing or lost something that would help keep it in place. The two screws now just spin so they can't get any tighter. I saw a document that said they should be at a specific torque, but I would think there would be something to make it more secure. Doesn't seem very BMW-like given how they usually secure parts. That's why I think I must be missing something. Any input is appreciated!

I think I figured it out. I had a post about a random clip and it looks like why it may be moving. Take a look and see if you have any photos of this mounted so I can get this thing back to normal.
