For those with steel brakes
My brakes are squeeling and making a weird grinding noise when in traffic and in normal driving when coming to a stop. It happens if they are hot or cold. Anyone else experiencing this? I only have 350 Miles on the car.
The squeeling does not bother me since I am used to CCB but the grinding noise does. Any thoughts? |

The brakes on my X5M and M5 are identical. M5 has been quiet so far. X5M always starts to squeal between washes. Brake dust does it. Wash it and is quiet for a while. Never grinding on either. Try spraying off the calipers when cold with a water hose and see if it goes away.

hopefully the f90 doesn't have the same issue the M3/4 have with getting small rocks stuck in the brake shields.... If I go over any rough gravel roads I can bet that I'll get a grind or two in the following days

if its a pebble in the heat shield it should be really loud and likely coming from just one caliper. if that seems like it then try driving a bit in reverse or pressing the heat shield back with your fingers and see if a little pebble falls out.

No issues like this thus far with my M5 (at ~1,100 miles); good luck!
