Best sounding intake irrespective of performance
I'm interested in knowing which induction systems sound the best. Intakes unless perfectly engineered, struggle with improving on OEM design so I'm completely aware of the power side of things. Ideally I'd like something that's at least somewhat shielded on the engine bay side because I live in Texas and know that the car will be hot for a few months out of the year. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Open filters in the engine bay are probably loudest. MAD sells them with a little baffle and is probably the best value in that category. I personally would not put open filters in the engine bay, but my goal is performance over sound. I used Dinan turbo inlets and drop in panel filters, which is a good combination since the inlets add a little sound as well as dyno proven performance. I later changed the panel filters in stock boxes for the complete Dinan intake, but that did not add any sound. Eventuri probably sounds best out if what I call the quality intakes — Dinan, GruppeM and Eventuri.

Here is our shielded intake. We also have a non shielded version available as well as a carbon version that will be ready to ship in May.
