Need roll racing tips

I was roll racing in Mexico with a 2019 mustang gt w full bolt ons and e85 tuned. I have a 2018 m5 with a jb4 on map1 due to 91 octane. I was barely pulling on him. We did 30 rolls and 50 rolls. What gear should I be in for both races to start? I was in 2nd for the 30 roll and 3rd in the 50 roll. I would punch it at the start and car barely moved and then the turbos would spoil and I would barely walk away from him.
Any tips to improve my times?

You'd need better gas for sure, but that's intriguing that you could barely pull on him. That's the regular mustang with 460 hp as stock? Any chance he got a supercharger?

Sounds about right. The mustang is about 600ish pounds lighter and E85 and bolt ons is making 520-550rwhp. And if its the A10 trans im surpised it was not a dead heat.

If it had any form of boost he would leave an M5 in the dust.

He said it was E85 and full bolt on, so a 600 or more weight advantage with up to 550rwhp, it would be close to a dead heat.

No supercharger. Bolt ons.
91 is all we have for gas.

We did a dig race when he was super confident. Destroyed him and he was on drag radials

i don't see why MDM would be faster and or not equal to AWD in a roll race.
Any Data on this ?

While we're on this subject. I was always curious but never tried, can you be in MDM or 4WD when using launch control or do you have to always be on DSC OFF?

We would need a car to do runs with a draggy... one could guess that with less nannies, MDM also has less parasitic loss than regular AWD.

But I dont know the exact science behind it. Just a supposition.

I don’t think MDM is significantly slower than DSC off. I do like a tiny safety net in case there is oil on the road, water, etc.

i see your point, well said, and in fact 2WD might be better in a roll.
Theoretically speaking.

If you can get traction in 2wd. I can't at all w the ps4's. Even on the freeway in 2wd the rear end will whip a little at the hit

These cars struggle to put power down in 2WD .. found this out the hard way with a couple of close calls in several F10 M5's. AWD on current F90's a game-changer.

45-50 rolls in 2WD with warm tires is not too bad but really need some real data to measure the gains from less parasitic loss in 2WD.

The AWD system reverts all power to the rear wheels once the traction is there.

DSC off with AWD and manual mode with trans set to 3 is your best bet in good dry conditions.
