Not so much because it is great, but because it breaks boundaries. Odds are, the perceived lack of greatness has to do with it being a foreign sound to our ears. They do have talent, they mostly need to find their voice. A lot of it sounds like appropriation of male rap or (in Iggy's case) appropriation of black culture. Uhhh I don't see Nicki Minaj as someone who broke anything except maybe a chair with her fake fat ass. The barrier breakers were the Missy Elliots back in the day.

Ok - for sure. Different league. What Nicki Minaj lacks in... most everything... she makes up for with balls through. She is unapologetic and unafraid. I respect that. I actually went to see Nicki Minaj not too long ago for shits and giggles. I can't stand her appearance, but she blew me away with her performance. Gotta respect her as an entertainer.

I was guilty of this. It was just slang indigenous to most urban communities, especially in the northeast.

People usually adopt the dialect used in their communities, especially over an extended amount of time.

Funny enough, when I would visit my family in ATL, the girls loved my accent and when I used to replace the "th" with the "ff".

Of course, now I try to speak a bit more refined now that I'm older and want to portray myself as a professional most times. (I work too much)

Too old to still be hanging out on street corners talkin bout nuffin....
