Too much blunt smoking through generations causes these missteps.

Nah, if you're from FL you might know. I think it's a Latin thing.

A few artists (1990s)

TKA
Stevie B
Rockell (not Rockwell)
Judy Torres
Lisette Melendez
George Lamond

Growing up in NJ/NY and hanging out with some PR kids...they used to jam out to freestyle. It's kinda like the reggaeton of the 1990s.

Now I feel bad... I didn't know that. Wow. I actually don't mind her music - my daughter is into the female rap movement - Iggy, Nicki Minaj, and some others. Not so much because it is great, but because it breaks boundaries. Odds are, the perceived lack of greatness has to do with it being a foreign sound to our ears. They do have talent, they mostly need to find their voice. A lot of it sounds like appropriation of male rap or (in Iggy's case) appropriation of black culture. They are on the way, and I totally applaud that. You gotta break some glass to make change.

For body parts/trunk space ratio, you gotta defer to:

Why do you think we prefer Crown Vic's and long-bodied Cadillac's? Makes easy work of piling in multiple carcasses and avoids blood on the Girbaud jeans and Nike boots.

Uhhh I don't see Nicki Minaj as someone who broke anything except maybe a chair with her fake fat ass. The barrier breakers were the Missy Elliots back in the day.

Put some 20" chromies on them and a Chevy S10 spindle kit.

Then you got a Donk.

It's nice to look at, though.

Yes, this is definitely the black thread.

Ok - for sure. Different league. What Nicki Minaj lacks in... most everything... she makes up for with balls through. She is unapologetic and unafraid. I respect that. But yeah, Missy Elliot, Patty Smith, Janis Joplin, Joan Jett, Debbie Harry, Mary J. Blige, Amy Winehouse - another league altogether.

I actually went to see Nicki Minaj not too long ago for shits and giggles. I can't stand her appearance, but she blew me away with her performance. Gotta respect her as an entertainer.

I respect her persona, despite disliking it. But I just think she looks ridiculous. Kind of clown-like.

I was guilty of this. It was just slang indigenous to most urban communities, especially in the northeast.

People usually adopt the dialect used in their communities, especially over an extended amount of time.

Funny enough, when I would visit my family in ATL, the girls loved my accent and when I used to replace the "th" with the "ff".

Of course, now I try to speak a bit more refined now that I'm older and want to portray myself as a professional most times. (I work too much)

Too old to still be hanging out on street corners talkin bout nuffin....
