Thanks. I just started messing with the dragy and boy is it fun. I wanted to get a baseline before I do the exhaust and sports cats. I may test the i8 for fun before my lease is up. Plan is to get an M5 as the daily in September.

Without hard data Id guess my car is in the 127.XX now and thats not gonna cut the mustard in a straight line with an F90. But its my fave car to drive because... it just drives really well. As good as Porsche mates up the spring and damper combo, the mag ride in the NSX is maybe just a bit better than the R8's/Porsche set up. I need to find it, but there is an article where it shows the NSX has better grip than the R8, Porsche GTS and others.

I do really like the car. I have a few annoying rattles when I go over bumps that I've tried to have the dealer fix but no luck. My i8 has been solid as hell.
As far as new tires, debating whether to do the sport contact 6 or some Michelin product. |

You will love the DP's (any of the big brands are safe: SOS, Fi, Fab, etc) as this item makes the biggest change in sound and some power. Running the car in Sport + or Track basically makes the rear section of the exhaust a through and through process. Its the 600 cell count OEM DP's that suck up sound and flow.

Science of Speed is in AZ and Fi is in Asia LOL but I did go with 100 cell count Fi DP's and they have been strong in sound and performance.

Look what I just found... 3 straight runs on DP's and a JB4 tuning box for the NSX. I think this is better than my Vivid Racing box for sure:

That's moving. Still not as quick as that stock 991.2 TTS tho
I've actually thought about the JB4. Seems like a farely low risk tune. |

Edit: yeah the Jb4 is easier for removal if any issues arise. Im probably gonna try it out to see where the car sits vs the current tune.

These results swing back and forth don't they. Once both cars were up and running, the AMG neither fell further behind nor gained on the M5... which, for this race at least, means it was all about the launch.
That said, the stats are starting to swing in the M5's favour in terms of # of dragraces against the E63S won. At the strip, fuel, the driver, DA, temp, prep, heat soak, tranny temp... could all swing the outcome. As the DD, though, I'll take the M5 every time comfortable in the knowledge that everything works, it works quickly and intuitively and it'll hang with just about anything... and do so even when the road has corners. |

Yes conditions always mean so much; thats why I always like head to heads when possible and if both cars are driven correctly. Im sure if the AMG got the launch it wanted here, it would have been closer or a win for the AMG. Both great cars that you and I have had the pleasure of abusing

After having both the NSX and M5 for a couple weeks I think the NSX feels quicker to 90 ish mph and then the M5 feels like it just takes off from 90 mph onward.

Thats the electric engines and the immediate tq response--- my nsx is tuned with dp's so its even faster than stock but my tuned M5 is still faster. But the NSX has that great driveability in that range from 30 to 120 coming in and out of turns as you know very well.
