I'm assuming the M5/C is legal for sound limits in all 50 states, but I'd also expect that the car is at the higher end of noisy for legal vehicles in whatever the state with the lowest sound limit for stock vehicles is. |

Currently this is the solution.....This Is plug&play with no need for ECU manipulation so you can stay safe with warranty.

I have a 2018 build date M5 and it doesn't crackle, it burbles (although admittedly I haven't revved it beyond 3500rpm in neutral to fully test this). I assume they added the pops and bangs in a later software update but it's too risky to update now in case it takes everything away.

Went through my first tunnel since ownership in January this year. My God! I will never rev it while elderly are driving behind me or near people who are walking. It sounded like thunder! 🤤😁✅

So I gather from this that cars with ID7 (new digital dash) have no crackles and pops. And cars with ID6 (old digital dash) still has crackles and pops. Here in the UK I've seen M5/M5C registered after Sept 19 and still have the old digital dash and when I search the registration is said euro 6B (no idea what this means). On the registration that I found for a the ID7 car it says Euro 6D.
So am I right in assuming that these euro 6B cars will still have the pops and bangs even though it's been registered after july 19? In addition to that, have a lot of people had their pops and bangs taken away since July 2019? Has there been any explanation for it. I know pops and bangs may not be to everyone's taste but I'll be searching for a used M5 soon and this is one of the things that I really want and would be put off if BMW decide to take it off all pre july 2019 cars |

That would be really annoying. Apparently DMS might be able to add pops and bangs.

My 2019 (March) M5 Comp makes some pops in lower gears on shut down, that's about it. Do I care.......... nope. My 2018 F90 M5 made more (March 2018).
