How are you enjoying the exhaust Nikolov? Worth the investment?

Yes, I like it. I’ll do some clips for you next weekend after I have all the GoPro equipment and some free time.

Sure, it's all subjective without some controlled recordings to compare. And while this is not race car loud, when I fire the car up in Sport+ mode it echos off the houses across from me and the pops roll down the street. It's pretty damn loud, but it's not piss off every neighbor within blocks loud, like some of my shittier neighbors are.

I'm assuming the M5/C is legal for sound limits in all 50 states, but I'd also expect that the car is at the higher end of noisy for legal vehicles in whatever the state with the lowest sound limit for stock vehicles is.

That's nuts, there has to be different versions of software out there. Mine is nowhere near that loud. A friend of mine on these boards "Shoei" got software upgrade about 2 months ago and his car is stupid loud now too. They can't go back and put in older software so he has to wait until the next update. I think they caught it after the first wave of updates but those cars are screwed for now. So odd because I swear my car isn't very loud.

Currently this is the solution.....This Is plug&play with no need for ECU manipulation so you can stay safe with warranty.

How would an axle back restore the burbles and pops?

Hi I’m about to buy a used one from bmw. Registered sept 19. Manufactured 11/18. It’s a m5 comp as the dealers aren’t doing handovers until they reopen I have to wait until then. It has 2000 mls on the clock. I really hope it pops n crackles etc. does anyone know if the services or updates etc have actually stopped then from hearing the pops and crackles etc.

When I take my car into the stealers I always ask them to leave the software as is. No issues yet, still has the OEM crackle map.

I have a 2018 build date M5 and it doesn't crackle, it burbles (although admittedly I haven't revved it beyond 3500rpm in neutral to fully test this). I assume they added the pops and bangs in a later software update but it's too risky to update now in case it takes everything away.

Went through my first tunnel since ownership in January this year. My God! I will never rev it while elderly are driving behind me or near people who are walking. It sounded like thunder! 🤤😁✅

So I gather from this that cars with ID7 (new digital dash) have no crackles and pops. And cars with ID6 (old digital dash) still has crackles and pops. Here in the UK I've seen M5/M5C registered after Sept 19 and still have the old digital dash and when I search the registration is said euro 6B (no idea what this means). On the registration that I found for a the ID7 car it says Euro 6D.

So am I right in assuming that these euro 6B cars will still have the pops and bangs even though it's been registered after july 19?

In addition to that, have a lot of people had their pops and bangs taken away since July 2019? Has there been any explanation for it. I know pops and bangs may not be to everyone's taste but I'll be searching for a used M5 soon and this is one of the things that I really want and would be put off if BMW decide to take it off all pre july 2019 cars

Could be a good shout mate - although I do think people with ID6 have taken car in for work etc and they have removed it.

It may sound silly but I would be absolutely gutted if I didn't have it, may as well go Tesla if it's removed!

That would be really annoying. Apparently DMS might be able to add pops and bangs.

Any tuner can at the expense of your warantee. Good luck.
My 2019 (March) M5 Comp makes some pops in lower gears on shut down, that's about it. Do I care.......... nope.
My 2018 F90 M5 made more (March 2018).
