Hey gang, what do we do if the 2020 is completely different then our 2019 M5C? Who will return it to get the new? And who has been thinking about this the closer we get to the 2020 model coming out???

It's facelift and will not be completely different ..... I owned a 13' F10 M5 and 15' (LCI) M5 and the changes were subtle.

IIRC, LED Headlights, Front Grills, Tail Lights, iDrive, Steering Wheel and maybe some other minor changes I missed.

I think your options are two-fold: 1) get it or 2) don't.

As josec70 pointed out, the mid-cycle changes are usually minor from an aesthetics standpoint and seem to be more focused on interior & iDrive updates. With the F10, for example, it also got the bigger iDrive jog-dial that supports touch/handwriting along with the updated head-unit.

I'd go with this philosophy: enjoy the car you've got for everything it is; deal with your concern about LCI tweaks if and when there's reason.

On that note: why are you bothered/thinking about it to this extent? I can honestly say this hasn't crossed my mind one time... well, until you posted about it that is.

I would guess the LCI doesn't come to the G30/F90 until the 2021 model year (in summer/fall 2020). So you have nothing to worry about for another year+!

Also, if I always wanted the latest and greatest, I'd be looking at the M8C in 2020.

It's crossed my mind. I'm planning on ordering a 2020 as soon as they are available to order. My only concern is the grill. I hope it stays the same. If it's going to look like all the rest of them that have come out this year... well,
I would love to get some confirmation that the LCI won't come out until mid model year (which seems odd, but it's been mentioned) or MY 2021.

Ditch the AWD, Carbon Trunk, Carbon Roof, Carbon Driveshaft, Carbon Ceramics, Lighter Wheels, 305 Sport Cup 2s, Lightweight seats, drop some sound deadening, 640hp, 7DCT = 3990 curb weight and we have a serious contender for a M5cs.

Too bad that will never happen.

In that case you need a new car every 6 months, pony up bud. And don't complain.
You are entering wife complaint zone, lol.

There will always be a newer, better model, regardless what type of car you drive. Unless you have really deep pockets to change and upgrade to every LCi or new model that comes out, sitting and waiting to get the latest model almost never works out.

Enjoy the car you have, thats the thing most of us do. I am still awaiting delivery of my M5C, due for delivery in mid May. I would maybe have max. 1 year before the LCi comes out and my M5C becomes "old".

The next car I am looking to get maybe would be the GT3 RS. Given how expensive cars in my part of the world is, I would look to get into a lightly used GT3RS of a previous model year.

My dealer confirmed me that laser light is coming for 2020 M5,M550ix and M550xd.
There will be some bigger changes for g30.
M550ix get 530 ps.
All g30 will probably get live cockpit and idrive 7.0.

Not confimed for M5.

Ha! You remind me of my Father's friend back in the day. In the 80's he would get a new car every 6 months. I recall a stretch when he went from a 635CSI, 560 SL, 560 SEC and a 928S4.
BTW at 16, he would throw me the keys, and tell me to drive to store to buy him some smokes!
