Close to pulling the trigger. Found the exact car I want in dealer stock

Specs:

2019 M5 Competition
Donny Grey
Aragon Full merino leather
Alu Carbon Dark trim
Driving Assist Plus
Executive Pkg
Bowers & Wilkins
No moonroof!

MSRP: $124,595

I asked for $10k off. They quickly agreed. Makes me wonder, should I have asked for more off? lol.

Anyhow, is $10k off good for a Competition? That’s roughly 8% off the msrp.

Only bummer is tires are Pirelli not Michelin. I might just go for it.

A few questions:
1) what keys are supposed to be included with a 2019 M5C? Is a display key optional? Dealer said I will just get 2 regular keys but no display key. Sounds right? (for US spec cars)
2) what other accessories should I look for if I decide to take delivery? are mats, cargo net, other accessories included?
3) any other delivery tips or pointers?

Much thanks. Love this forum. Love how it can influence my intention to purchase a practical X7 and turn it into a spontaneous M5 purchase instead.

$10K off is a good deal for M5 Comp; if you're leasing make sure your Money Factor is dealer "Buy Rate". I'm not sure what it is today but I know there's a thread around here that updates it monthly.

If you like the car, I would not sweat the Pirellis as you'll have to change them eventually and you can replace them with Mich 4S.

No Display key (at least in the US) as far as I'm aware of; I received 2 keys w/ my M5 Competition.

Good luck

Is it at Patrick BMW? When that car first arrived in January, I tried to get $12k off the car...they wouldn't go more than $2k. It's sat on their lot since then, so sounds like they are now willing to deal.

BTW - that is the EXACT car spec I ended up getting from another dealer. Absolutely love the combo.

Good luck!

yup, Patrick.

They have 6 other Competitions, so I figured they’d be open to dealing

I liked the combo when I built it in the configurator... seeing it in the flesh was love at first sight!

Thanks for the reassurances everyone. I’m going to buy it!

That is a great combo, not that I am partial (have the same combo only difference is carbon trim and CCB). If they agreed that quickly to 8% you may be able to do better but it all depends on your timeframe my bogey was 9% and ended up 10% and could have done better but preferred the trim of the car I bought...I spoke with ~ 8 dealers. Having a competitive process is also helpful. If it's the exact car you want that's a pretty good deal. I'm using the savings off MSRP for xpel and ceramic coating - (Thanks for all the great recommendations from this forum)

With regards to your questions: No display key here in the US or cargo net.

I love my Donington M5, it is the perfect color for the competition package. You are getting a great deal, now run to the dealer before they sell it to someone else.

I did! Took delivery but there’s been crap weather and raining all this week, so I’m waiting for some sun and clear skies to try and take decent pics to do Donnington’s beauty some justice

This was what the weather was like on Saturday when I first went to look at the car. Even if I wanted to drive it home then, that probably would’ve been a bad idea with the summer Pirellis.

She’s all mine now though

Congrats...you and I literally have the exact same car...down to every single option. I have just over 300 miles on mine thus far and absolutely love it. I did a "blind order" on mine having not seen the full aragon brown in person. I couldn't be happier with the combo. I get compliments on it all the time. Such an amazing looking car.

Enjoy!

Congrats, I ordered exact same specs as your car but with the additional rear seat entertainment for the kids. Its on the boat now should have by mid May. I was able to get $8k off and had the car shipped to me in South Florida. Purchased car from Mobile, AL. Very disappointed with my local dealers down here. 2 dealers never even called me back after I gave them my build and 2 just gave me the typical car runaround. Very excited for the beast to arrive.

It's a decent deal but you probably could've asked them to swap the Pirelli for Michelin to close it.

Doubt it. Tried that. P4s are spec on the 19 Comp and dealers are not usually willing to have 4 Pirellis they pulled off sitting around. Just burn em up and replace with 4 PS4S. You will be lucky to get 20K out of em.

Oh and congrats on the new ride. Very nice

20K miles? I was thinking if I throw in a couple of track days after break-in I can burn ‘em up in less than 5K

I already knew I wanted Donnington after seeing it on someone’s M5 in the wild, but it was really the Aragon interior that gave me the biggest gotta-have-it wow factor when I first saw the build in person. It’s very complementary to the subtle gold tones in the Donnington grey exterior. I personally cannot think of a more perfect match for it.

Cool, please post details/pics of the RSE when you get it. I’ve yet to see an M5 with the RSE. I considered getting one with it but couldn’t find any local examples to check out in person. I was really more curious about whether the M5’s RSE units could be unplugged and removed, like on the new X5/X7, and replaced with a BMW accessory iPad/tablet holder, since my kids actually prefer their own iPads during our road trips over the RSE we have in our Q7. But in the end I figured $2200 was a steep option cost if my intention was just to remove it and swap in a pair of iPads. My kids will just have to hold their iPads then

Yes, for sure i'll be posting some info on the RSE, Rear Seat Entertainment. I was able to track down a 5 series that had it and played around a little bit. You are not able to mount anything to the back of the M5 seat so getting the RSE is really the only option at the moment to get a screen back there.

I agree with you on the color combo for the Donn / Aragon interior. first saw it on X5M and it really makes for a great combo.

I was able to get the dealer to swap them out with another M5 they had. I was trading my 2018 M5 special order for a 2019 M5 comp special order and was P’d that it arrived with Pirellis. I actually told them I wanted my old tires off the 2018 back because the Pirellis were so noisy and the ride sucked. They had another M5 that had just arrived at the time with PS4s and they swapped them over for me. Not saying all dealers will, but mine took care of me considering they just got two M5 purchases from my in short order.
