Gesture Control Sensor Covered
This is what I did to get rid of all the laser false alarms in my Escort radar detector.
Could have been a little better, but it was not easy working upside down... |

The gesture control sensor window in the headliner control module. Most radar detectors that have laser detection capability are triggered by the gesture control sensor which uses a laser to detect motion in front of the dashboard below. In order to eliminate the radar detector false alarms, you have to cover the sensor window. |

I turned my Escort laser portion off which I don’t love, but with Waze always on it helps. May grab a Radenso.
Instead of covering up gesture sensor I was told you can turn it off within the idrive settings. Is this not the case? |
