Advice about Azurite

I’ve only owned black BMWs, and in SBM. I am considering Azurite for the f90 but am torn about the option due to the extra wait added to the already-long wait for the MY19 car.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this exterior color and how it compares to Sapphire Black. Does it look as aggressive as SBM?

If you have good res pics to share, thank you!

I know a lot of this is ultimately personal and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Couple of pictures I took looking one over at a dealership recently. It's a sharp Color, little blue tint to it.

Can anyone comment on Carbon Black compared with Azurite Black? Wonder which one is "blacker"...

I have a 650iX F12 in carbon black and the F90 in azurite and the azurite is slightly more blue in overcast light. In bright sunshine azurite is more sparkling and in a neon interior both are identical.

I have azurite on my F10. It is similar to CB in low light - but - full sun shows the blue and metal flake. Very unique. I’d go for it. You won’t be disappointed.

I agree. Azurite made me do a double-take when I saw it in bright sunlight on an F10. Really unique "black".

Does the black M designation on the back become invisible in an azurite black CP model?

I doubt it. Gloss black emblem over Azurite will have enough contrast where it’s still noticeable and will look very sporty.

I have ordered Azurite with Tartufo. I'll get mine in July. Ordered this colour without having seen it in person. More because I wasn't enthusiastic about the other options.

The add on time is just another month fir production I'm told

These pics were very helpful - I think I will like this choice.

I've got a few pics of my AZ Black F90, but they are very similar to those already on this thread. However, a few things I've noticed about the color.
  • Wouldn't call it "more" black than the Carbon Black, it just looks more wet. The blue gives it an inky tone, which I personally like.
  • Looks a bit odd under fluorescent lights. If you pull up the color on the BMW configurator tool, it has a strange tone to it. That's what it looks like in my garage. I have to say I don't care for it under those lights.
  • Direct and/or bright sun and the car becomes midnight blue. I love the color changing aspect. Not so much that anyone has called it a blue car, but I have been asked what color it is.

Overall, if you like a black car, this one has a different personality. As was said previously, it is a great sleeper color. Just another black sedan - or is it?

Azurite vs Saphire Black

Great thread. I am considering Azurite or Saphire.

I like the blacked out look, black wheels with polished lip, carbon fibre front lip, side skirts, rear diffuser, m side badges and kidney grills.

My concern was that the blue tones of azurite might not look right with all the cf etc. any thoughts or advice?

I've got Azurite Black on my F90 and love it. I added CF lip, side skirts, spoiler and side mirror caps and they blend in very well. Most people think it is black but when the sun hits it and the blue pops it is amazing. Pictures don't really do it justice. It definitely adds a little spice to what would otherwise be a black car.
