You don't need to be a race car driver to appreciate how BMW's somehow dialed-in the M5 CS. Best driving BMW I can recall (and I've had a few over the past 30 years). They should tune all F90s to be exactly like this one. Reduced weight likely plays only small role.

Can we please stop with these petty comments about the M5 CS and the Competition model? They are both great cars and anyone fortunate enough to own either should be very grateful. Let's move on the next topic. THX.

i agree. The problem is the CS owners think the car is made of gold..

The non CS owners think the car is ugly etc. Which is fine, but thats why you didn't buy it right....?

It's nice to see any manufacturer get something like this right and pay attention to small details (especially BMW with the abomination of many of its new designs.

Front painted reflectors on order.

Absolutely!!!! those orange reflectors (in general as is) NEED to go!!

Color matched reflectors have been the first mod I order for like my last 5 BMWs. When I upgraded the front facia on my F32, I ordered the euro model as to even avoid having those reflectors in the first place!
I agree on getting rid of the orange 100%, but what's your take on dark smoked reflectors depending on car color?

Excellent choice and may be the only option if one has a frozen color.

My m5cs is in the quality check stage, ordered it after contemplating the ct5 v blackwing (caddy dealer never called me back when I inquired…not surprised, it's your typical Detroit area GM dealer).

In an attempt to turn this thread positive, the Ann Arbor BMW dealer called me and told me they had an allocation, already spec'd. it happened to be spec'd exactly as I wanted…the stars aligned. Best part is, they sold it at msrp. Manager said their first mission is to connect owners with the right cars, they won't sell over msrp. Kudos to them! This was in September.

Fast forward to today, I get a call from the local caddy dealer who I inquired about the blackwing. They got one in, spec'd exactly as I wanted…they wanted $30k over sticker.

One item that gets overlooked when debating these cars is the dealer and company support and underlying culture.

I love BMW, not only for cars like the m5 (all models) but for the consistency of their dealers going above and beyond for their customers.

My wife had a 2008 x5 that Ganley BMW (Cleveland Ohio) replaced a water pump that went out 1,000mls out of warranty. They only charged me for the part, they covered all the labor…and we didn't even buy the car from them.

It is this service and support that keeps me coming back. I've got a 2020 m4 and will soon (hopefully) have my m5 to add to the stable.

My m4 below…love that car!!!

So true (and typical on the markup). I set out to purchase a Blackwing and placed an order back in March. 9 months later, still no allocation and the dealer knows less than nothing if that’s possible.

My local BMW dealer went above and beyond to earn my business and as a result, instead of my 4th GM vehicle in a row, I’ll soon be taking delivery of an M5C, my first BMW. Can’t wait. Congrats on the CS!

^^^^very cool!!! I've wanted an m5 since I was in high school and used to go to the Cleveland auto show and sit in the e39 with my girlfriend…now wife (so she knows how much I love cars :-). I'm excited to become part of the m5 family. It's an awesome car with an amazing heritage, regardless of generation or trim.

I've had both the H/K and the B&W systems in the G30 chassis and while the B&W system is better, it isn't $3200 "better"

This coming from someone with B&W Nautilus speakers in my house.

BMW needs bigger midrange speakers and subs to get more dynamics.

Beating the drum I know, but an honest fan.. the Alpha Ones kick the crap out of the HKs for sure and are a worthy upgrade. I have installed them now into every BMW I currently own, and several that others now own.
