Thanks man. Stage 2 is technically upper and lower downpipes along with tune. I have lower downpipes only. Those PG charge coolers look pretty trick!

That’s really good into the 5s.

Wonder what he’s adjusting?? Did you log it? More boost ? I think your timing was pretty good already.

Should try work getting it off the line now. I think you have a 9 in it!

Thanks man. I tried logging, but I've been using BM3 and it failed to log this run. I'm not sure what he's adjusting exactly, I've had maybe 6-7 different files over the last month. All tweaks and adjustments are based on a combination of logs and dragy runs.
With the current weather/TQ/and state of my rear tires I'm no longer doing 1/4 until it gets warmer and I get new tires. With the xHP TCU I spin first thru 3rd leaving from idle, cant brake boost and cant use LC.

Congrats to GTATX for his blazingly fast 5.88 60-130 in DA1751ft. You will continue to get faster as the DA (hopefully) drops. I see a 5.5x in your future.

I went back out today with less gas. I think this is all shes got in her. 5.93 60-130 DA -1138ft I could squeeze a bit more out of her but I'd rather not and enjoy the rest of the winter.

Correct on mods. Tune is extremely smooth. Drivability is as good as stock and best part is that after looking at logs and being it the first file, everything was perfect. Ease of using the tune with bm3 is amazing.

The Drag Race mode is not for daily driving and is customizable. Be careful with it.

Little cooler so better numbers. Very close to breaking into 9.7s with a better launch. 60ft needs to be 1.6 or less. Also added 100% meth vs 70-30 let's see.

I don’t drag race anymore, but back when I did finding that extra mph or tenth of a second on a consistent basis was a fun part of the sport. Your numbers are very impressive, but I get worried as your times drop. I don’t want you to post that something went BOOM! Or, are you looking forward to that so you can do a full build and go for even more?

There seems to be a large number of these cars running strong numbers like this. I think with a good tune and good fuel, they will be fine.

Well I think with supporting mods, maintenance and right gas and fuel mods these cars can handle it. Also don't be an ass to the car and abuse it. Occasional fun, or somewhat aggressive driving is fine but if it's a burn out every drive or stomp on gas every light then even stock engine might give up as well. I'm not saying that the car is as safe as stock but with proper mods we can check most of the safety boxes to keep it running as long as we control our aggression with the car.

Also I haven't heard of any blown motors with HCP in North America unless someone begs to differ.

But still failures can happen even with everything i said and most of the time the car owner is the only one to blame for it as either they picked a crappy tuner, failed to follow tuner instructions, didn't have supporting mods, or abused the car continuously.

This BMW motor isn’t an American pushrod motor and I expect a teardown for just inspection purposes would get expensive. I don’t know if it’s possible to check for a rod that’s slowly bending toward failure without a complete disassembly, although I suppose the rod bearings could be checked without pulling the crank. I just remember so many F10 owners with blown motors, but it’s been a while so the tuners must have improved their knowledge by now.

But I believe the rods are the same in this updated motor, or at least not forged, and the pistons are still cast, but changed in the oil control area, thank goodness! My F10 burned about a quart of oil every 3,000 miles, but the F90 hasn’t burned any between oil changes.

Best of luck with your future runs, the MPH is pretty awesome and indicative of HP. The ET side is so dependent on launch, too many variables to blame a tune completely.

Congrats to GTATX for those blazingly fast times. I knew you'd hit that 5.5x with some decent DA.

There is a post somewhere from BMW describing improvements to the LCI motor internals.
