How easy is it to retrofit navigation screens?

I see the LCI has the 12 inch screen like the X5 and X7 but it doesn't appear the actual assembly is any bigger than the pre LCI. I am assuming the 12 inch likely just has less of a frame around the screen and it's pretty much just all screen.

Think plug and play this would work retrofitting?

Quite possibly. May require coding but that should be it. Still idrive 7 if I recall.

So I have iDrive 6 being 2019. Only thing I'm interested in is bigger screen as the new ones. Hopefully there is retrofit just for the screen and keeping rest of the hardware and software as it is.
