2015 M4 now or wait for the GTR R36 2016 model released in 2015 !!!
This is what it looks like in the rendering and i think its finally a good looking GTR, 800HP , Hybrid, 100-150K but i am hopping its closer to the 100K, 0-60 is in the 2.7 sec range

Not radically different from the current model. If it has 800hp, I would think 0-60 would be closer to 2 seconds flat. Premium would probably start around 120K.

so, u decided on the gtr ? i can guarantee that the gtr cost 2x as much as the M4. I would love that gtr with 800hp, but is it even practical these days?

The the beautiful GTR won't be so pretty when you wrap it around a pole!!! Wrong reason to get a GTR. The M4 is beautiful in person and for what you want as a DD it will be awesome

like most people said, in reality, the gtr will be twice the cost of the m4. different cars in different price brackets.
personally, I don't have the money to DD a 120k car with the type of maintenance and upkeep the gtr will require. nor would I. Id rather have a good DD and a real sports car for weekends and track, but JMO.

I got say the GTR is in a different league all together from the M4 and to get it is more of a wish than a reality for me. I saw the Picks and i got hooked a bit. It will easily be in the 120K range and thats like almost double the price of a stock M4. 800 HP is rediculous for the streets anyway and i will loose my liscence and end up in jail in no time if i am lucky or wrapped around a pole. This is all speculation but i am still likely gonna look into the GTR R36 used certified as a replacement of my M4 down the line maybe 80 K range in 2018. This will be a switch from a sport performance car to a true supper car.

"I worked really hard and now I have a Nissan to show for it"
Snobbish thing to say I know, but I couldn't put my 80+ neighbor out of my mind while walking to my car. He drives a Nissan (when ever someone tows him back to the road). |

Couldn't stop thinking about it, had to sell my M3 and get one. Most people pull the Nissan badge off, and I often get people asking me what kind of car it is. They only sell about 1200 a year, not the 5-8k M3s that sell every year. Have a listen. Does that sound like a Nissan? |

While on the hunt for the old version of M3, i did have a tiny crush on the R8 Audi, but the super car territory is not needed for my use now. the sad truth is that my car will be used as a shopping trolly. Unfortunately I don't use navigation systems, so getting lost is my only driving time. That's my usual excuse why getting a gallon of milk from a shop less than a mile away takes me up to 2 hours. The time spend was my main reason to order the M4, Milk has to be cold, so one must hurry back with the load ;D Last edited by Lups; 03-19-2014 at 06:16 PM.. |

Follow the Matt Farah "Should I buy a GTR" question tree.
Do you track your car? Yes - go to next question. No - buy something else. Do you care about lap times? Yes - go to next question. No - buy something else. Do you care how your lap times compare to others? Yes - buy a GTR. No - buy something else.

If I wasn't so whipped, I totally would even try to come up with better excuses, but now I just don't bother and go to the roads by night. |

The most powerful car I've ever driven is my cousin's F12 M6. It's rated at 560 bhp. It is INSANELY fast. I told her after I brought it back that "I would be in jail if I owned this car". I can't even imagine 800 HP in a street car. I can barely (legally) use my puny 240 HP in my 328i on the street. That Nissan looks amazing and 800 HP is incredible, but I doubt you'll get to enjoy all the power without putting yourself and others at serious risk.
That said, the Nissan represents amazing bang for the buck, even if it cost $140,000 which it probably wont. With 800 HP and the right aerodynamics it should break into the 200's top speed! I doubt many people will be cross shopping this car with an M4. |

I drove a GTR and knew it wasnt for me. I hit the track 2 times a year for fun and I have one car thats both my DD and track car. So, I will never be at the limit of a car because if I stuff it, I have to deal with fixing that car and needing new trans.

I don't know, both are 2+2 coupes that are nice and fast...but the GTR is obviously more expensive to purchase/maintain/modify. I personally think a lot of the brand prestige in the premium companies like MB, BMW, Audi have been diminished as cheaper cars have stepped up their quality and performance while maintaining great reliability.
