super excited they finally added remote start...and odd that the US builder literally has the option for Laser Light for the X5/X5M...frustrating!

well i think the M5 has some lasery stuff in it, but not the full blown ones. i too saw the real laser code on other models and a friend has the M8 which has them too afaik.

its not the end of the world but man do those laser high beams travel!

EDIT: This is from a previous post

US Market F90 LCI comes with:

552 Adaptive LED headlights
- Full LED headlights with dynamic laser light
- MatrixLED technology
- Low beam and high beam via two light modules (4-eye face)
- Direction indicators from the outer icon
- Dynamic, predictive (GPS-controlled, predictive) cornering light and high beam

so what is dynamic laser light? who knows, but it says laser!!!1

I would assume so as well, just why do the other with seperate models just to go back to the old system on the LCI update? Just odd.

I think going back to the old comp pkg system makes M5 allocations for dealers easier.

So now if a customer wants a non-comp M5 the dealer doesn't have to worry about finding non-comp M5 allocations if all they (previously) had were M5 comp allocations.

In other words, if a customer wants an M5, any M5 allocation is an M5 - they're all the same.

Unfortunately someone failed at their job and the printed brochures now have to be redone.

It should read:

552 Icon Adaptive Full LED

- Full LED headlights with dynamic functions
- MatrixLED technology
- Low beam and high beam via two light modules (4-eye face)
- Direction indicators from the outer icon
- Dynamic, predictive (GPS-controlled, predictive) cornering light and high beam

To update info for the US market:

- NO MatrixLED functionality
- NO Laser option for the foreseeable future on G30/F90

its all pretty confusing =)

The tech is there, but the functionality will be disabled.

The entire front bumper and lower facia are waaaaaaay better on the LCI!
But I don't like how the iconic Angel Eyes have morphed into a Audi.

Supply chain issues due to CoV-19. Caramel comes from a single supplier in Italy.

Its such a bummer. That caramel full on the M5 was among the nicest OEM interiors I've ever been in and was a large part of why I was excited to order an F90. I look forward to seeing the new black/beige combo on the M5.

I'm currently awaiting "yeah or nay" on doing a full caramel lower/black upper interior on my new build. Oxford Green exterior was approved, but really want the classic caramel to complement it.

I'll post back my results and the expected upcharge.

I am curious how this turns out. For my order, I could not order anything not listed in the order guide. I tried to get my sales guy to slip in the laser lights. Would that not be slick to have an M5 in USA with laser lights? Also tried to get carbon fiber trim like in the M3. I was told it is a no go on both of these. I even tried to call BMWNA to request the carbon fiber trim under the Individual program. They just referred me back to the dealer.

Why have an Individual program?

The lazer lights can not be put in an F90 M5. Maybe the next generation M5 will have them.

Making progress...
After emails with corp, sales manager is confident I can do caramel with light brown wood trim, just awaiting final confirmation.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but the M8 Midland Beige has Alcantara but the M5 Midland Beige is just Midland Beige without the Alcantara accents on the sides. It makes a significant difference to me without the alcantara for that color scheme.

any idea what the difference between the Adaptive LED's are? What is shadowline?
I read somewhere that the M5 Laser Light projects at 600m which is not in compliance with US Dot 300m specifications so thus we can't have it here in the states. I read if Laser Light were to tone down to 300m, might as well stick with Adaptive LED. Not sure how the 3, 8 and X5 can have Laser Light here in the states and not the M5. Maybe those models project shorter distances than the M5 design.

Shadowline light like another poster wrote is just the blacked out upper portion of the headlight unit. The shadowline makes the daytime running L tubes much more pronounced. In the states we can't order shadowline a la carte like you can in Europe. Not sure why the US always has limitations on options. We do pay less for cars compared to other regions...
