I really hope the GT500 isnt worth $175k now. I'll be kicking myself bigtime.
I had one ready to go in August 2021, but then backed out when my M550 popped up and cancelled the build.........yikes.

This. If you want a gt car with an F9x chassis, get an M8C coupe. If the Shelby makes you happy though, then that's the answer!

Cost wise, with the mark ups the GT500 is more expensive. I saw some dealers not budgeting from $175,000 even. M5 fully loaded costs less. If you do a lot of work and waiting maybe you can find a GT500 close to a fully loaded M5 price.

Hp wise: 760 on shelby so M5 is lacking there

Sound: no comparison, GT500 blows it away

interior: here is where the m5 is 10 levels above the GT500

Practicality: 4 door vs 2 door...but gt500 is not gonna be my daily

Which one would you get if it wasn't a daily driver for you? I would assume GT500 for most.
I had a Shelby GT500. It was my previous car. I traded it in on a used 2020 M5C in January 2022. I often got 11mpg or less. Sound was deafening and was awesome (still like the M5 pops better!), but for a daily it really wore on me. Rear seats? Yeah right. I don't have any kids, but the car was a 2-seater no matter what they say. Essentially it was more of a weekend car. It was comfortable, but just not practical in Chicago. Being my daily I had to put winter tires on it in the fall/winter, and summer tires in the spring/summer.

My #1 issue was always traction. The hp/tq is absolutely useless at legal speeds. You MUST be speeding to get traction and floor it. Seriously, there is nowhere in my state I could drive the speed limit and have traction, so the hp was essentially useless and the main reason I traded it. Only from a roll at 80mph+ could you hook, and even then only in warm, dry conditions.

My 2020 M5C is waaaaaay more practical. This car with summer tires doesn't get stuck as easy in the snow as the GT500 with winter tires. And I get about 18mpg vs 11mpg, and the gas tank is big enough for me to go 400 miles vs like 150 miles per tank in the Shelby. And I can actually accelerate from a stop light. With the Shelby I was losing to far lesser cars from a dig ALL. THE. TIME. I lost to a goddamn SRT4 once cause I was just spinning...humiliating! Plus the back seats are USABLE. I can transport 3 other people in comfort, PLUS have a usable trunk for groceries and/or luggage. Night/day difference.

So yeah...I prefer the M5C for traction, 4 usable seats, a usable trunk, gas mileage, range, and even sound (love the turbo sound and the pops...beats even a s/c roaring v8 in my book!). Just my two cents from a previous GT500 owner.

Pretty much sums up why I sold my modded HC Charger; and why the F90 M5 truly is a super car!

Race a supercar in the f90 and see what happens...

There are levels to speed, and while the f90 is fast, it isn't supercar level.

I have driven many supercars. Have you? I have driven new Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, high-end Porsches (GT3RS, etc.) and the F90 is at their level. I can beat a 2021 Lamborghini Huracan Evo 0-100mph and in the 1/4 (I did when we raced), and I've beaten several of the others I've raced.
***Facts: 2021 Lamborghini Huracan Evo 0-60mph is 2.8sec (no rollout) vs 2.8sec for a 2020 M5C. 1/4 mile is about 10.5sec, ours is listed at 10.9sec. You can easily see it is a driver's race, especially on a non-prepped surface, and winning is definitely possible as most Lambo owners can't drive worth shit :-)

I think what you mean is the F90 is not a hypercar. We can't beat the super ridiculous $1mil+ cars out there. McLaren Senna, McLaren P1, Koenigsegg Jesko & Regera, Pagani and the like. That is true.

But the F90 can hang with and even beat many supercars. I have driven them, and raced them. And won.

Rawness is great, but long trips it became tiresome, like you can't hear your cell phone above 70. M5 is a great car for a different purpose, but it made my wife happy and I can still run in mile races.
Most important, make yourself happy.
I am looking at the Carbahn tune and the DINAN turbo inlets. I love to hear your thoughts on those upgrades? Thanks for your help.

.
Would LOVE to see the current Formula 1 car take on each one of those, in order.

Thanks, I actually have and I won. And, I did with a family pack from Popeyes, 5 chicken sandwiches and 2 large jambalayas (before they stop selling it), all safely tucked in the back seat leg area at the time. 😊

So the F90 is a supercar? Ok, Bring your F90 down to south fla so i can slap you around in the 720. Jesus some if your are truly delusional. You guys are letting those 0-60 times mess with your heads. While the F90 is certainly nothing to sneeze at from a dig ( a roll race against most supercars will have you running back home in a hurry)

I’m curious. Is your pinky finger below, at or above the top line of your ring finger?

I have both the 720 and CS. Both are awesome. I'm simply saying the CS is not supercar level. Thats a fact, not an opinion.

I think it’s all semantics. Can it keep up with them through 100 or so? Sure. And that’s what usually matters on the street. Does that make it a supercar? No. So define supercar. Exclusive, fast, certain manufacturers, price? Who cares? But in the end, it is the closest a 4-door, 5 passenger sedan can get and that’s all that matters.

If put $ on the M5 vs a 720S in a no prep street race from a dig , 1/8th mile race, 45F day. Both bone stock. Bone stock tires.

The M5 is impressive.

Obviously a 145mph trap 1/4 720s will spank it in a 60-130 roll race.

But, the M5 is impressive. Especially considering the M5 quality.

720S from a dig isn't a slouch, when LC is used correctly as well. And i'll be honest, if an F90 pulled up next to me at a light he'd probably get me. I haven't used LC in it yet.

Everything else, i said already.
