Another ambient lighting issue
Hey everyone. Took delivery today of my ‘22 M5C, but realized the only way to get the ambient lighting to come on is to unhook the passenger footwell light. When it’s plugged in, the footwell light is green and none of the ambient lights work. Anyone know how to rectify this so I have both ambient lighting and a passenger footwell light?

Never mind, got it. The plug has to be separated like so. Probably some sort of transport thing the dealer was supposed to take care of.
Works like a charm now! EDIT: it still is green in the footwell on whichever side I place the light. It is white with the doors open but green with closed. I closed it back up like it came and at least the ambient lighting is working now, but now I still have the footwell issue. Last edited by DGM M5C; 06-08-2022 at 10:17 PM.. |

I don't have any ambient lighting in my passenger footwell. Am I supposed to?

The ambient light down there was always green, even when changing the colors of the ambient lights. Swapped the light to the driver's side and the green followed. When the original light from the driver's side was moved over to the passenger footwell, it had the correct color ambient light and it changed with the color selection in the iDrive. I have no idea what's going on with it.

You’ve got a Superman theme!
I take mine in this morning for a couple things and hoping they can tackle my issue. Only way the lights stay on for me is by unplugging the passenger footwell light. Once I plug it back in, the lights stay in for about 5 seconds before turning off. There’s some electrical gremlins living in this car. |

One of the lights in the series was bad and they replaced it. Not sure if it was the passenger footwell one since that’s the one I would remove and they’d start working. All good now!
