It's incredible for a Chinese customer.
It must be a bonus for customers from NATO members.

I'm sure there are Euro delivery program in Asia as well, though not sure about China specifically.

Does the discount offset the shipping cost back to the US ?

No shipping cost. You pay about 5% less than US MSRP for the car. Bmw ships car back for you and covers your insurance while you drive around in Europe. Dealers aren't always willing to negotiate a whole lot on the price of the car as it comes out of their allocation of M vehicles, but otherwise, it is a good excuse to take a European vacation and your discount can cover a good chunk of cost of your vacation. You also get discounted airfare and some perks at the Welt. The experience at the Welt is top notch. If you have the time to plan it out, it is awesome.

Yes, you must do European Delivery for pick up of a new car, it's amazing. My wife who is not a car person thought the whole experience at the Welt was phenomenal!

Do they give you enough lead time to plan the trip and get decent flight/travel options?

Since the completion of manufacturing of the vehicle can be delayed, I'm wondering how they are able to schedule deliveries far enough in advance to plan a vacation.

Very cool. Yes, I'm actually on the email distribution (I think it's for the same group), but the last 2 meetings have conflicted with my travel schedule. Hopefully see you at the next one!

You have to place your order at least 3 months in advance. They confirm your pick up date and time within a couple weeks of placing your order so you have plenty of time to get travel plans in order.
