Great video!
Verdict as I see it: M5C: You have kids (no matter the age), You need to hang dry cleaning with ease, store a briefcase (not having it bang around in the trunk/front seat), put anyone over 5 ft tall in the back seat and actually care about their comfort. All while not losing sleep over: leather quality, "new car" vibes, possible facelift en route= M5C is you car M8C= Your kids are very very young, you don't mind getting out to crank your seat forward constantly to let them in, prefer to struggle with dry cleaning hanging/ hiding of briefcase, never plan to have adults ride in the car with you, care about getting 5-10 more "thumbs up" from dudes at traffic lights, absolutely could not give a f*** about depreciation, would lose sleep over diamond pattern leather seats- M8C Although the M8 is super cool- the M5C is my vote

And I understand the M5C is a little bit lighter than the M8C

Though the 8 is more cool, the 5er is far more practical. Soon the tech in the 5 will catch up!

I'm not familiar with Joe Tunney, but anyone who presents himself as a reviewer of automobiles and doesn't know a MacPherson strut front suspension from a double-wishbone loses all credibility for anything else he says. Neither the M8 or the M5 has a MacPherson strut suspension.

Front end of the 8 is a busy mess compared to the M5. And the profile of the 8 looks like a Mustang to me. First time they showed the car off on GT, I swear I thought they were driving up in a top of the line Mustang.

the 8 series is a cool car.. Drove the 850 xi couple of months back and I liked the car , the engine sound was also mare natural than M5
looking forward to driving M8C and see how it compares to M5C but in general I prefer sedans over coupes for DD |

The m5 and E63 are quite a performance bargain compared to their coupe/gran coupe equivalents. I guess the gt63 and m8 were made so bmw and mercedes could sell a car at the panamera turbo price since their m5 and e63 were already at the performance level of the panamera turbo anyway but with a less premium feel. My guess is that the m8 will be heavily discounted like the gt63 was after initial release because people don't value the "coolness" advantage at the level that bmw has valued it above the m5.

Very cool looking. But not only do I like the look of the sedan more, the M5 has the same performance for $40k less. M8 is just a bit to plush for my tastes.
