M5 Competition Exhaust Question

Just acquired my vehicle and trying to learn a few things.

I will consult the BMW Youtube channel as recommended by the Dealer, and of course the data on this forum.

One quick exhaust question: if the car is set in Sport everything and D2 with the Exhaust Button on the center console illuminated, is this the "full exhaust sound" or is there more? Same with power, although I know I can select D3 for crisper shifts.

Sport or sport plus I believe opens the valves however I believe asd is louder in sport + so you may get a little additional noise if in sport + vs sport. Shift settings will not effect sound just hold the revs higher or the gearing lower.

"Full exhaust sound" is only available when the throttle is set to sport +

I find that Sport+ and D3/S3 produces more sound than D2/D1/S2/S1

My experience is Sport setting by itself does it. The variable is how high you hold your rev - you can do this with your transmission setting set to D3 or simply by using manual shift. So the D/S settings can be replicated manually by you doing manual shifts.

The gun fire sound is intoxicating. My neighbors kids love it when I drive up emitting gunfire sounds. His mom and dad...and my wife...not so much - ha ha ha ha!
