See: https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=24619374

You might be looking for more specifics or even a post from someone that did it themselves; I did not. However, those are the notes from my buddy that does all of my work. He said the only even slightly difficult part is figuring out how to pop the airbag cover off. The rest was self evident (he said ).

PM me your email address again, I'll send you a copy of the installation instruction.
I was doing Hockeytyme today at his home. Maybe you can fly me in for NYE, and I'll do free install.

It's an expensive upgrade for what it is, but I do love the feel of it for sure! It's much more solid

I'm definitely up for the silver alloy ones if we can get a Group Buy going!

I changed the paddles and the steering wheel on my 440i and both the paddles and steering wheel are easy to change. Hardest bit (which isn't hard) is to release the airbag (battery disconnected) - I used chop sticks to do it, a doddle!

Should take 15mins to change them.

You don't need to puncture it.
The hole is there and the leather is already have a slits from the factory.

So, you just need to insert a tool to push the spring mechanism thst hold the airbag.

got it took me a few minutes to realize that but noticed after shining a flashlight on it. Then took me another 30 min to get the right side off and could never get the left side......

For those considering their options, I've used both the AutoTecknic and 3D Design paddles and I can say without a doubt the AutoTecknic feel better and is more sturdy. I loved the black chrome finish on the 3D Design but the backing has plastic in some spots and the joints that hold it to the BMW side of the paddle are plastic vs. metal on th Autotecknic. It's also far more expensive, overpriced like the rest of their stuff.
