Pcd 08/04/22 ?

Anyone here picking up there car this week? I'll be at the Performance Center in Greenville SC on August 4th picking up my M5. This is my first BMW so wouldn't mind connecting with a few folks while I'm there.

Thank you!!! April 1st to August 4th, it's felt like an eternity but glad the day has finally come. I'm nervous like it's the night before the first day of school LOL

Sounds interesting, what all do you get with that one day school?

Heading there tomorrow for a half day class. We took a trip to Asheville this weekend and figured it's a good chance to get down there.

I'm honestly not quite sure. I haven't been able to find any details online that it would be any different than any other one day M school course.

It's slightly different very very slightly different but more or less the same thing, if you go online look at thr difference between m drivers package and 1 day m school

Back in the good old days (E60 and earlier generations), every M5 came with the “M5 Driving Experience”, which was basically the one day M school. BMW dropped it for the F10 to minimize the cost bump on the new model. Some of us who had to deal with the oil pump replacement debacle still got it anyway one last time.

I've been trying to figure out how they make money from it, because my dealer offered it to me for free and I know nothing's free lol

Oh you're talking about the new bmw experience lol unless you purchased the m drivers package you get something called the new bmw experience which is this

https://www.flowbmw.com/bmw-new-owne...ance%20Center.

It's not even a half day experience and honestly probably not even worth going for 1-2 hours of drive time unless you live by the performance center lol.

That's exactly what I was talking about...I definitely wouldn't have came by a flight or train, but it was fun since this was my first BMW and only an hour away. The factory tour was definitely enlightening. I couldn't give up my need of "self preservation" at the skid loop so I sucked big time lol

I'm sorry I confused you with someone else in the thread, you did performance delivery, which is the same driving part as the new owner thingy, plus a factory tour lol. You can do performance delivery on any car you buy the the way they make money is by selling you on another car for example the off road part in the x5 it let's you test out the x5 or x7 off-road and shows off some stuff in hopes you buy it, same with the m340 skid pad hey look how safe our cars are! Tell your friends and family. It's just a marketing stunt like how they do the ultimate driving experience autocross thing
